The wait for the ultimate domestic clash of the North American League of Legends circuit is almost over, as the region's finest rosters gear up for the highly awaited LCS 2026 Summer Split.

Slated to commence on Saturday, July 25, the League of Legends Championship Series 2026 Summer represents the final split of the competitive year for North American LoL teams.

This tournament acts as the proving ground where the region’s eight franchised squads will lock horns to claim regional glory and secure their tickets to the upcoming LoL World Championship, set to be hosted on home soil later in the year.

The final split of the season has retained its familiar structure, as the participating teams battle through the regular season for spots in the playoffs, where the final showdown will determine the new champions and rosters who will earn the right to represent the league in the season-ending event.

With some roster changes, LCS Spring introduces a breath of fresh air; however, the overall power dynamic remains highly concentrated. It leaves heavy-hitters such as Team Liquid, Cloud9, FlyQuest, and LYON firmly seated at the top of the preseason rankings.

Although only a select group of rosters are legitimately favoured to lift the trophy later this year, the stacked field of the region’s top talent promises a fiercely contested split.

This ensures that fans and punters alike can expect a summer filled with intense rivalries, potential upsets, and many betting opportunities to capitalise on.

Here is our free LCS 2026 Summer guide, with all the essential information about the upcoming competition, including the format, favourites, and outright betting odds, courtesy of the top-rated bookmakers.

LCS 2026 Summer Format

LCS Summer will use a streamlined format, dividing the split into two phases.

The action begins with a regular season, in which all eight franchised LoL teams will be placed into a single round robin group, where all games are played as best-of-three (BO3).

At the end of the regular season, the top two teams will secure a direct bye into the semifinals of the playoffs, while the next four teams will proceed into the upper bracket quarterfinals. The bottom two teams are eliminated from the LCS title race.

Playoffs move to a double-elimination format with all matches played as best-of-five (BO5), including the grand finals.

All games, across the regular season and the playoffs, will use a Fearless Draft rule, which has become a custom across all competitive leagues.

LCS 2026 Summer Favourites

LCS Summer promises to be an exciting and competitive split, albeit some teams are rightly viewed as more likely to make a run for the trophy.

Sitting at the very top of the power rankings are LYON, and for all the right reasons. They are the defending champions, who left a very positive impression at the recently finished Mid-Season Invitation, where they placed third after a competitive loss against the eventual champions, Hanwha Life Esports.

As proven before, when LYON are comfortable and firing on all cylinders, they are widely considered the undisputed best team in the region, and it will take a lot for them to lose that tag following a streak of strong showings in the latter half of the season.

However, after extensive international travel and a gruelling schedule, fatigue and jetlag could lead to a slow start to their summer campaign. Yet, even if they drop early games, LYON’s ceiling remains unmatched, making them the team to beat.

Hot on their heels are Team Liquid, a squad with immense firepower and a stacked roster, capable of challenging anyone.

TL has looked formidable in the spring split, with top laner Morgan showing excellent form and veteran CoreJJ returning to his MVP-calibre playmaking. While Liquid’s performance at the MSI left a lot to be desired, they have the tools needed to challenge LYON for the North American crown.

Despite their success in previous seasons, Cloud9 enter the summer split surrounded by scepticism and tagged as gatekeepers rather than a team who can topple the region's elite.

After a shaky spring split, the pressure is on as another collapse for this historic team could force the front office into a massive rebuild.

FlyQuest round out the upper echelon of contenders. Unlike the internationally fatigued LYON, FlyQuest enters the split well-rested, although given their struggles in Spring and Lock-In, they will have a lot to prove in the final split of the season, mainly that they can keep up with the region’s elite.
