Having secured a direct playoff invite, EDG have played just one game so far this event, beating FUT Esports 2-1 in the opening round of the playoffs. The game was a bit too close for comfort, however, as EDG lost the first map (Haven 4-13) and needed a reverse sweep with 14-12 on Pearl and 13-5 on Fracture.
In their defence, the clash with FUT was EDG’s first game in weeks, so some rust played a factor in their subpar performance. However, that does not change the fact that EDG weren’t clean in the opening round.
