Ajax and PSV meet in a highly anticipated Eredivisie showdown, with both teams boasting impressive goal scoring records in recent matches. Ajax remain unbeaten under manager Michel, while PSV are regaining form despite early setbacks. Key stats indicate a likelihood of both teams scoring and plenty of goals, making BTTS (both teams to score) and over 3.5 goals a strong recommendation for this fixture. Viewers can stream the match live via Stake.com, with competitive betting options available. Expect an action-packed encounter between two attacking sides.

Ajax and PSV have been banging in the goals in recent weeks which suggest a high scoring match in Amsterdam. I am keeping this one simple, BTTS and over 3.5 goals my only selection.

Key Stats

  • Ajax have seen over 3.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 matches.
  • Ajax have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 7 matches against PSV.
  • Ajax have seen over 3.5 goals in 3 of their last 4 matches against PSV.
  • PSV have seen BTTS in their last 4 matches.
  • PSV have seen over 5.5 goals in their last 2 matches.

HTH

Ajax have a 74-69 advantage against PSV alongside 33 draws. Four of the previous seven encounters have ended in draws.

Ajax Unbeaten Under Michel

Ajax haven’t lost under new manager Michel, winning seven matches alongside two draws. They beat Vojvodina and Shelbourne in the Conference League qualifiers, scoring 13 goals with five conceded.

The goals kept coming against Sion in the playoffs, starting with a 4-2 win in Switzerland. The Swiss side took a 2-1 lead in Amsterdam before Tolu Arokodare scored twice in a 5-3 victory.

Michel’s side have continued to bang in the goals in the Eredivisie, a 2-1 win at PEC Zwolle followed by a 2-2 draw against Heerenveen.

Ajax are coming off a 4-0 win at Telstar where Steven Berghuis registered a goal and two assists. Arokodare scored again to make it four goals in his previous three games.

PSV Back to Their Best

PSV had a slow start to the season, losing 4-0 against AZ Alkmaar in the Super Cup after
Joey Veerman was sent off in the 9th minute.

Peter Bosz’s side are yet to keep a clean sheet in the Eredivisie, conceding in added time to draw 2-2 against Fortuna Sittard. Ruben van Bommel opened the scoring in a 2-1 win at Excelsior.

The goals have been flowing since, starting with a 5-1 victory over Groningen. An early deficit was overcome in style at Utrecht on Sunday, Guus Til scoring twice in a commanding 6-1 victory after ending with 30-1 shots.

Verdict

Ajax are unbeaten in five matches against PSV but have not been able to stop their rivals dominating the Eredivisie. Anything could happen in this one so I am backing BTTS and over 3.5 goals.
