Al Nassr gears up to face Al Ahli Doha in the AFC Champions League Two semi-final. Riding on an impressive 17-game winning streak, Al Nassr is predicted to continue their dominant run with a high-scoring victory. Recently, the team crushed Al Wasl 4-0 in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, Al Ahli Doha secured their semi-final spot with a 3-1 win against Al-Hussein Irbid. This encounter marks the first meeting between these two teams, promising a competitive and thrilling match. Both teams have shown a tendency for high-scoring outcomes, making it an eagerly anticipated clash.

Al Nassr vs Al Ahli Doha Predictions

Al Nassr should get the better of a likely high-scoring and competitive AFC Two one-legged semi-final on Wednesday. I have my stake on a “home” win with over 2.5 goals scored.

Al Nassr in Sensational Form

  • Al Nassr won their last 18 matches
  • Al Nassr have seen over 2.5 goals in 6 of their last 9 matches
  • Al Ahli Doha have seen over 2.5 goals in 10 of their last 12 matches
  • Al Ahli Doha lost 5 of their last 12 matches

Al Nassr and Al Ahli Doha Set For First Meeting

Al Nassr and Al Ahli Doha will meet for the first time on Wednesday.

Al Nassr Extend Superb Winning Streak

Al Nassr come into Wednesday’s AFC Two semi-final encounter after a commanding 4-0 win against Al Wasl in their quarter-final contest last week. Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane were among the goals as The Knights of Najd ran out easy winners at Zabeel Stadion.

Jorge Jesus's side made light work of their UAE opponents, outshooting Al Wasl by 17 to 9 in a routine victory for the SPL outfit.

An extraordinary winning run has seen Al Nassr secure victories in each of 18 matches played since mid-January. The Saudis averaged 2.9 goals per game across those wins.

Al Nassr have also been hugely impressive in their AFC Champions League Two run, winning all nine matches they have played in the competition this season.

Those nine AFC Champions League Two matches have also been high-scoring, with an average of 3.33 goals per game.

Al Ahli Doha Secure AFC Semi-Final Spot

Al Ahli Doha progressed comfortably into Wednesday’s AFC Champions League Two semi-final with a deserved 3-1 win against Al-Hussein Irbid on Sunday. Former German international Julian Draxler was among the scorers at Zabeel Stadium.

Both sides had their moments in a competitive contest, with Michel Vlap’s stoppage-time penalty adding gloss to the final scoreline.

After a poor run of form in February, the UAE side have picked up some decent results in recent weeks. Younes Ali Rahmati’s side are unbeaten in their last five games, with three wins picked up in the process. Al Ahli had lost five of seven previous fixtures.

Like Al Nassr, high-scoring outcomes have been frequent in recent fixtures. An average of 3.66 goals per game were scored in their last 12 games. Only Two of those matches finished with fewer than three goals scored.

Solid in this competition, Doha are unbeaten in nine AFC Two games this season (W4, D5).

Predicted Lineups and Team News

Al Nassr (4-4-2) Bento; Nawaf Boushal, Mohamed Simakan, Abdulelah Al-Amri, Inigo Martinez; Ayman Yahya, Marcelo Brozovic, Angelo, Sadio Mane; Joao Felix, Cristiano Ronaldo

Al Nassr boss Jesus could be forced into at least one change to his first XI on Wednesday. Kingsley Coman failed to appear for the second half of the easy win against Al Wasl and is now doubtful to feature this week. Ayman Yahya stands by to deputise.

Sami Al-Najei and Raghed Al-Najjar remain long-term injury absentees.

“This competition is very important to us. Al Nassr has never won this competition, no Saudi team has ever won this competition, so we took it seriously from the start.

“We could have been better in some areas today, but everyone played to the best they could.”

Al Ahli Doha (4-2-3-1) Marwan Badreldin; Reda Tihi, William Troost-Ekong, Ayoub Amraoui, Abdoulaye Doumbouya; Idrissa Diallo, Driss Fettouhi; Sekou Oumar Yansane, Michel Vlap, Julian Draxler; Erik Exposito

Head coach Younes Ali Rahmati is likely to stick with the same side that began the 3-1 win against Al-Hussein Irbid. Influential German playmaker Julian Draxler will feature, with Spanish forward Erik Exposito poised to spearhead the Doha attack.

Verdict

Al Nassr have been dominant in this competition, and I expect the Saudi side to claim another high-scoring win on Wednesday. I have my stake on Al Nassr to win with a minimum of three goals scored.
