Chelsea are playing attacking football, winning games and scoring a lot of goals. The Blues can show their quality against Hull and in-form Palmer is tipped to score.

Key Stats - Palmer Finding Form at Home

  • Chelsea have won 5 consecutive home games.
  • Chelsea have seen over 6.5 goals in their last 2 home matches.
  • Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has scored 3 goals in his last 2 home games.

H2H - Blues Dominate

Chelsea have a 35-4 advantage against Hull, alongside 10 draws.

Chelsea Take Control at Stamford Bridge

Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea are in excellent recent form and have won six of their previous eight in all competitions. The London team have scored 25 goals in that period.

The Blues have hit winning form at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea beat Real Sociedad 3-1 in pre-season, Luton 2-0 in the EFL Cup and Brighton 4-3 in the Premier League.

Chelsea’s only defeat this season was a 2-1 away loss at Premier League title holders Arsenal. Morgan Rogers struck within two minutes and the Blues conceded either side of half time.

Alonso’s side hit back with a 6-3 EFL Cup third round home win against Leeds. Chelsea trailed before Cole Palmer scored twice in two minutes and Danny Welbeck, Pedro Neto and  Valentin Barco also struck.

Hull Face a Challenging Away Test

Hull made a promising start to 2026/27 following promotion from the Championship.

The Tigers stunned Man United with a 2-0 home victory and beat Coventry 1-0 away. That mini-winning streak ended with a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa, where Hull had just 0.57 XG.

Sergej Jakirovic’s side then lost 1-0 at Sunderland in the EFL Cup on Wednesday. The Humberside outfit had one shot on target and conceded with 20 minutes remaining.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Chelsea (3-4-2-1): Emiliano Martinez; Josh Acheampong, Maxence Lacroix, Wesley Fofana; Pedro Neto, Romeo Lavia, Reece James, Jorrel Hato; Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers; Joao Pedro

Midfielder Jordan Henderson is ruled out with a wrist injury. Defender Marco Palestra and midfielder Moises Caicedo are in contention to return against Hull.

Levi Colwill is an injury doubt. Xabi Alonso explained that the defender had a recent knock in training and said, “It is just from little things that he's having, but we don't expect that it's an injury.”

Hull (5-4-1): Konstantinos Tzolakis; Lewie Coyle, Semi Ajayi, John Egan, Nobel Mendy, Ryan Giles; Mohamed Belloumi, Regan Slater, Lucas Gourna-Douath, Elliot Stroud; Ollie McBurnie

Goalkeeper Jack Butland, forward Ilyas Ansah and defender Charlie Hughes won’t feature due to injury. Midfield trio Darko Gyabi, Eliot Matazo and Hidemasa Morita are also injured and unavailable.

Paddy McNair could be available for the Chelsea match after returning to training. Sergej Jakirovic confirmed the centre-back’s return recently and said:

"He went to a specialist about his metatarsal bone, there is some issues. But everything is fine so he will join us on Thursday again."

Verdict

Chelsea play front-foot football and create loads of chances at Stamford Bridge. Cole Palmer is in top scoring form and can fire the Blues to a high-scoring victory against Hull.
