Tottenham, keen to prevent another Premier League home defeat, hosts Everton, a team that struggles to win away games. The matchup is expected to be a cautious affair, making a draw a valuable betting option. Bettors may consider placing units on both an outright draw (odds: 3.6) and a 1-1 result (odds: 7.5) for this closely matched contest. The key recommendation is to back the draw due to both teams' recent forms.

Tottenham vs Everton Preview

Tottenham are struggling for consistency following big summer changes. Everton are poor on the road, draw a lot, and a Premier League stalemate is expected.

2 Draws in a Row for Everton

  • Tottenham are winless in their last 3 Premier League games.
  • Tottenham are unbeaten in 5 consecutive home matches against Everton.
  • Everton have drawn their last 2 matches.

H2H

Tottenham have a 74-58 advantage against Everton, alongside 60 draws.

Tottenham in a Period of Transition

Tottenham are lacking consistency this season after big recent personnel changes. Spurs made 10 first-team signings and transferred experienced players like Cristian Romero, Kevin Danso and Guglielmo Vicario.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have struggled to adapt and are winless in their opening three Premier League games. Tottenham were comfortably beaten 3-0 at Brentford and lost 2-0 at home against Newcastle in the first two fixtures.

Spurs responded with a 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest on Saturday. De Zerbi’s outfit failed to register a shot on target and faced 12 shots.

Everton Lacking an Away Threat

David Moyes’ Everton have one of the worst recent away records in the Premier League. The Merseysiders are winless in six consecutive games on the road, drawing three.

Everton are eighth in the 2026/27 Premier League table after a three-match unbeaten run. This streak started with a 2-0 home win over Crystal Palace.

The Toffees then came back from a goal down and drew 1-1 at Bournemouth. Moyes’ side were outplayed, allowing 2.15 XG, and James Tarkowski scored in injury time.

A 2-2 home draw against Man United followed. Everton trailed twice and late goals from Tyrique George and Ainsley Maitland-Niles earned a point.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Antonin Kinsky; Pedro Porro, Jan Paul van Hecke, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie; Rodrigo Bentancur, Sandro Tonali; Savinho, Conor Gallagher, Mathys Tel; Omar Marmoush

Midfielders Dejan Kulusevski and Xavi Simons and attacker Wilson Odobert are out with long-term injuries.

New signing and winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been ruled out for two months due to an ankle problem.

James Maddison is in contention to return to the Tottenham squad. Roberto De Zerbi was originally cautious over rushing the midfielder back from a shoulder issue and said:

“I think no, because after two days after the problem with Brentford and another two weeks out, it’s not the right moment.”

Everton (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford; Merlin Rohl, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite, Vitali Mykolenko; Harrison Armstrong, Ainsley Maitland-Niles; Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tyrique George; Thierno Barry

Midfielder James Garner is an injury doubt. Summer arrival and midfielder Christian Norgaard is also sidelined with a groin injury.

Verdict

Tottenham will want to avoid another home defeat in the Premier League and Everton rarely win away. A cagey clash is anticipated in north London and a draw has good value.
