In a crucial Premier League matchup, Leeds United is set to host Nottingham Forest. Currently 16th on the table, Leeds aims to capitalize on their strong home form to bounce back from a defeat against Arsenal. Conversely, Nottingham Forest, amidst an unsteady run, has managed critical wins against West Ham and Arsenal but remains unconvincing on the road. With both teams hovering near relegation, Leeds is tipped to win, thanks to their defensive solidness at Elland Road. Key players' return from injury may bolster Leeds' performance further.

H2H

Nottingham Forest have a 37-32 advantage against Leeds, alongside 35 draws.

Leeds Hard to Beat at Home

Daniel Farke’s Leeds are 16th in the Premier League and six points clear of the bottom three. The Whites are undefeated in nine of their last 11 games in all competitions, including three home wins.

The Yorkshire side were unbeaten in seven consecutive games before a 4-3 loss at Newcastle. Leeds hit back with wins against Derby 3-1 and Fulham at home 1-0 and a 1-1 draw at Everton.

Farke’s outfit lost their first home game since November on Saturday, following a 4-0 defeat to Arsenal. Leeds had one shot on target and conceded twice in each half.

Nottingham Forest in Unconvincing Form

Nottingham Forest are level on points with Leeds and occupy 17th place in the Premier League. The Midlands side have won just three of their previous 11 fixtures in all competitions.

Forest lost four Premier League games in a row before beating bottom-three side West Ham 2-1. The Tricky Trees then held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw and beat Brentford 2-0.

Sean Dyche’s side dropped points at home against Crystal Palace on Sunday after a 1-1 draw. Morgan Gibbs-White scored in the first half and Forest allowed 1.9 XG and conceded before half time.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Leeds (3-4-2-1): Karl Darlow; James Justin, Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk; Jayden Bogle, Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev, Gabriel Gudmundsson; Facundo Buonanotte, Brenden Aaronson; Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Attacking duo Dan James and Lukas Nmecha are unlikely to feature due to injury. Defender Jaka Bijol is also an injury doubt.

Anton Stach is ruled out with a hip issue. Daniel Farke provided a pre-match update on the midfielder and said, "The only negative news is that Anton Stach is struggling with some hip problems after the last game day and it looks that he's likely to miss the game on Friday and also the Chelsea game."

Nottingham Forest (4-2-3-1): Stefan Ortega; Ola Aina, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo, Morato; Ibrahim Sangare, Elliot Anderson; Dan Ndoye, Morgan Gibbs-White, Nicolas Dominguez; Igor Jesus

Defender Neco Williams is suspended. Striker Chris Wood, goalkeeper John Victor and full-back Nicolo Savona are injured.

Attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi and goalkeeper Matz Sels are injury doubts. On Hudson-Odoi’s injury, Sean Dyche said, “A few different people got knocks today. Part of it was my decision tactically, so I was going to remove him because of that, but he has hurt his shoulder as well so it was a double whammy. Hopefully, it is nothing too serious, but we will probably find out more tomorrow.”

Verdict

Leeds are a tough side to play against at Elland Road and Nottingham Forest often lose on the road. The Whites can beat Forest in this Premier League clash.
