Liverpool's forward Hugo Ekitike has been prolific at home, scoring three goals in his last two appearances at Anfield. Both Premier League giants face each other next with Liverpool sitting at sixth and City in second place. Liverpool has shown some struggle maintaining consistency, drawing numerous games. Liverpool have a 110-61 advantage against Man City, alongside 58 draws.

Liverpool Draw a Lot in the Premier League

Arne Slot’s Liverpool are sixth in the Premier League and just two points off the top four. The Reds are in decent long-term form and undefeated in 15 of their last 16 in all competitions.

Liverpool have dropped points in five of their previous six league matches. They drew four consecutive games before a 3-2 defeat at Bournemouth.

The Merseysiders responded with a 4-1 comeback victory against Newcastle. Liverpool had 2.28 XG and Hugo Ekitike scored twice in the first half before Florian Wirtz and Ibrahima Konate also got on the scoresheet.

Man City Look Shaky on the Road

Man City trail Premier League leaders Arsenal by six points in the title race. The Citizens have won just once in their last six league matches, drawing six.

City saw back-to-back away losses at Man United (2-0) and Bodo/Glimt (3-1) before beating Wolves and Galatasaray 2-0 at home. Pep Guardiola’s side continued their patchy away form with a 2-2 draw at Tottenham.

The Citizens followed that stalemate with a 3-1 EFL Cup semi-final home win against Newcastle. Omar Marmoush scored twice in 29 minutes and Tijjani Reijnders struck a third before Newcastle pulled back a late consolation.
Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson; Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Milos Kerkez; Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister; Mohamed Salah, Florian Wirtz, Cody Gakpo, Hugo Ekitike

Defenders Giovanni Leoni, Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley are unavailable due to long-term injuries. Striker Alexander Isak is also out with a broken leg

Joe Gomez could return against Man City following a recent injury. Arne Slot hoped that the Gomez would recover in time to make the squad: "With Joe, we have a little bit of hope that he might train on Saturday."

"...So not available to start but maybe able to help the team, if needed, during the game, because as you know, there's not that many defenders available at the moment."

Man City (4-1-4-1): Gianluigi Donnarumma; Matheus Nunes, Abdukodir Khusanov, Marc Guehi, Nico O'Reilly; Rodri, Antoine Semenyo, Tijjani Reijnders, Phil Foden, Rayan Cherki; Erling Haaland

Defensive pair John Stones and Joskov Gvardiol and midfielder Mateo Kovacic are ruled out. Attackers Jeremy Doku and Savinho are also sidelined with injuries.

Bernardo Silva missed the Newcastle match on Wednesday. Pep Guardiola confirmed that the midfielder is a doubt for the Liverpool game"I don’t know. Of course in a position that is less dangerous than I would say the hamstring.

"It’s another type of muscle in his back but we’ll see in the next days. Could be okay’ is not the words. He’s an incredible doubt. Knowing him he will try but right now I don’t know."

Verdict

Liverpool and Man City have dropped a lot of Premier League points through recent draws. Hugo Ekitike scores most of his goals at Anfield and he can strike in a Premier League draw on Sunday.
