Nottingham Forest and Tottenham are set for an exciting Premier League clash, with both teams struggling defensively early in the 2026/27 season. Forest have consistently conceded under Glasner and Tottenham’s defensive issues continue, allowing 39 goals in their last 20 matches. Recent performances and stats suggest high-scoring is likely, with BTTS (both teams to score) and over 2.5 goals being recommended bets. Both squads face injury concerns, but expect plenty of action and goalmouth drama at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Preview

Nottingham Forest and Tottenham have conceded a lot of goals early in the 2026/27 season. Neither side looks comfortable at the back and BTTS has good value.

Key Stats - Goals Stand Out

  • Nottingham Forest have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 5 EPL home matches.
  • Tottenham have seen over 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 games.
  • Tottenham have seen BTTS in 2 of their last 3 away Premier League matches.

H2H

Tottenham have a 59-41 advantage against Nottingham Forest, alongside 29 draws.

Nottingham Forest Leaking a Lot of Goals

Nottingham Forest have a shaky defence and have conceded at least once in their previous eight competitive games. Since Oliver Glasner’s appointment, Forest have also conceded in nine of 12 matches.

The Tricky Trees made a slow start to the new campaign and lost their opening two fixtures. Glasner’s team lost back-to-back games at home against Leeds 1-0 and 2-0.

The Midlands outfit showed some improvement in a 2-2 draw at Liverpool on Saturday. Forest had 2.3 XG, led twice through Dan Ndoye and Morgan Gibbs-White and conceded two second half goals.

Tottenham’s Long-Term Issues Continue

Tottenham are lacking form and have won just five of their last 20 competitive fixtures. Spurs have conceded 39 goals in that period.

The north Londoners have already conceded six goals in three games in 2026/27. Spurs lost their first Premier League match of the season 3-0 at Brentford and responded with a 5-1 cup victory against Charlton.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side fell to 19th in the Premier League table after a 2-0 home defeat against Newcastle. Tottenham couldn’t score with 17 shots and 1.12 XG and conceded two goals in the last 30 minutes.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Nottingham Forest (3-4-2-1): Matz Sels; Jair Cunha, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo; Daniel Munoz, Xaver Schlager, James McAtee, Neco Williams; Morgan Gibbs-White, Dan Ndoye; Igor Jesus

Nicolo Savona is unavailable with a long-term knee issue. Oliver Glasner explained that the defender is still weeks away from returning and said:

“Hopefully he can fully train with us during the international break or afterwards, and then he should be back soon.”

Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Antonin Kinsky; Archie Gray, Jan Paul van Hecke, Micky van de Ven, Andy Robertson; Rodrigo Bentancur, Sandro Tonali; Pedro Porro, Mateus Fernandes, Mathys Tel; Omar Marmoush

Midfielder James Maddison and winger Savinho are injury doubts.

Attacker Wilson Odobert is ruled out due to a knee problem. Midfield pair Xavi Simons and Dejan Kulusevski are also sidelined with long-term injuries.

Verdict

Nottingham Forest concede a lot under Glasner and Tottenham are lacking any sort of defensive consistency. BTTS and over 2.5 goals are the best value bets in this Premier League clash.
