Inter Milan, in exceptional form, are set to face Torino in the Coppa Italia quarter-final. With a series of wins in past encounters, Inter is predicted to secure a home victory, scoring over 1.5 goals and possibly winning-to-nil. The hosts boast an impressive San Siro record, winning 10 of their last 13 games. Conversely, Torino, struggling defensively, has conceded at least two goals in numerous recent matches, making them the underdogs. Inter's advanced stage form is supported by their key player, Lautaro Martinez, who continues to deliver crucial goals.

Inter Milan vs Torino Predictions

Inter are in fine fettle, and they should secure a Coppa Italia semifinal spot on Wednesday. A home win with over 1.5 goals is my lock selection, with the hosts also tipped to win-to-nil at the San Siro.

Inter in Control of Torino H2H

Inter Milan and Torino have met on 12 occasions since 2020. Inter claimed victories in all but one of those fixtures. Torino have not beaten Inter since January 2019.

Nerazzurri Strong at the San Siro

Inter Milan continued their fine form with a simple win at Cremonese last weekend. First-half goals from Piotr Zielinski and Lautaro Martinez secured the points for Cristian Chivu's side.

In-form Argentine Martinez has now scored 17 goals in 31 appearances for the Nerazzurri this season.

The in-form hosts have enjoyed an excellent run of results in the past month or so. Inter won seven and lost just one of nine games played in January.

Usually a reliable force in Milan, Chivu's men won ten and lost just two of 13 domestic games at the San Siro this season.

Torino Leaking Goals

Torino come into Wednesday's Coppa Italia clash after a narrow 1-0 win against struggling Lecce last weekend. Che Adams' sixth goal of the season proved to be the difference-maker at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

Marco Baroni's boys lost four successive Serie A fixtures before Sunday's much-needed win in Turin. Il Toro suffered a 6-0 humiliation in their most recent road trip at Como two weeks ago.

Those defensive vulnerabilities have been evident for much of the season. Torino leaked two goals or more in nine of 13 previous matches.

The out-of-form visitors secured their place in Wednesday's quarterfinal contest with a shock 3-2 win at Roma last month.

Predicted Lineups and Team News

Inter Milan (3-5-2) Yann Sommer; Yann Aurel Bisseck, Manuel Akanji, Alessandro Bastoni; Luis Henrique, Davide Frattesi, Piotr Zielinski, Petar Sucic, Federico Dimarco; Francesco Pio Esposito, Lautaro Martinez.

Inter boss Chivu is unable to call on three first-team players. Marco Barella and Denzel Dumfries are ruled out, while Hakan Calhanoglu is listed as doubtful.

The Romanian head coach spoke of his satisfaction following the win at Cremonese.

"I saw maturity in understanding the right moments of the match and the ways of getting to victory. In terms of dominating the game, we were always in charge, although they didn't allow us very much”

Torino FC (3-5-2) Alberto Paleari; Luca Marianucci, Guillermo Maripan, Saul Coco; Marcus Pedersen, Cesare Casadei, Emirhan Ilkhan, Adrien Tameze, Valentino Lazaro; Duvan Zapata, Che Adams.

Head coach Baroni has a lengthy list of absentees ahead of the trip to Milan. Gvidas Gineitis, Zakaria Aboukhlal, Perr Schuurs, Ivan Ilic, Giovanni Simeone, Adam Masina, Zanos Savva and Niels Nkounkou all ruled out, while Ardian Ismajli is listed as doubtful.

Verdict

Inter have a great recent record, and in past encounters against Torino. I'm banking on a home win with at least two goals scored, while I also expect the hosts to win-to-nil.
