Juventus are set to host Lazio in a Serie A clash in Turin, with the home team demonstrating robust form at their home ground. Juventus have a formidable record, winning seven out of their last eight home matches. Lazio, however, have shown inconsistency, especially away, where they have struggled to score. Predictions heavily favor Juventus to achieve a win-to-nil outcome. Key players for Juventus include Jonathan David, who has been in stellar form recently. Both teams have notable absentees that could impact the match lineup.

Juventus vs Lazio Predictions

Juventus look like a home banker on Sunday, and they should keep the door closed against a goal-shy Lazio side. A home win is my best bet, while I also have a second stake on the hosts to win to nil.

Juventus Rock Solid in Turin

  • Juventus won 7 of their last 8 home matches
  • Juventus kept a clean sheet in 8 of their last 10 wins
  • Lazio lost 7 of their last 8 away matches against Juventus
  • Lazio failed to score in 4 of their last 5 away matches against Juventus
  • Lazio failed to score in 5 of their last 8 away matches (Serie A)

Juventus Dominate Recent H2H

Juventus and Lazio have met on 15 occasions since 2020. Juventus won eight games while Lazio triumphed four times. Lazio have not won in Turin since 2019.

Juventus Impress in Turin

Juventus return to Serie A action after a surprising 3-0 defeat against Atalanta in the Coppa Italia earlier this week. Despite creating several goal-scoring opportunities, Luciano Spalletti's side saw their Italian Cup hopes dashed for another season.

I Bianconeri have been in excellent form, with nine wins and just two defeats from their last 12 matches. Juventus were particularly impressive in last weekend's 4-1 win at Parma, where they registered an XG of 4.14 at the Ennio Tardini.

Jonathan David's recent performances have been a contributing factor to Juventus excellent results this year. After a slow start to his Old Lady career, the Canadian international has delivered seven goal contributions in his last seven appearances (four goals, three assists).

Particularly strong in Turin, Spalletti's men scored ten goals in their three most recent wins at the Allianz Stadium. Juventus kept clean sheets in all three victories, while they conceded just twice in seven previous home fixtures.

Lazio Short of Firepower

Lazio make the trip to Turin after a controversial 3-2 win against Genoa in Serie A last weekend. Despite squandering a two-goal lead, Danilo Cataldi's VAR-awarded spot kick - ten minutes into stoppage time - secured the points for I Biancocelesti.

Maurizio Sarri's side have struggled to find consistency in their recent performances. Lazio won two, lost two, and drew three of seven games played since the end of December.

A lack of quality in the final third has haunted the Romans in their away fixtures this season. Sarri's side scored just six goals in 11 Serie A road games since August.

Lazio's recent record in Turin gives little cause for optimism this weekend. I Biancocelesti scored just one goal while failing to win any of five games at the Allianz Stadium since 2022.

Predicted Lineups and Team News

Juventus (4-2-3-1) Michele Di Gregorio; Pierre Kalulu, Gleison Bremer, Lloyd Kelly, Andrea Cambiaso; Manuel Locatelli, K Thuram-Ulien; Chico Conceicao, Weston McKennie, Edon Zhegrova; Jonathan David.

Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti will be without Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik, while Kenan Yildiz remains doubtful.

The former Napoli boss conceded his team had been deservedly beaten in their Coppa Italia reversal in Bergamo.

“They were better than us in the decisive moments of the match. When you comment on a 3-0 defeat, there’s not much you can say. We congratulate Palladino and Atalanta, it is a well-built team that plays good football,” Spalletti told Sport Mediaset.

Lazio (4-3-3) Ivan Provedel; Adam Marusic, Mario Gila, Oliver Provstgaard, Nuno Tavares; Kenneth Taylor, Danilo Cataldi, Toma Basic; Gustav Isaksen, Daniel Maldini, Pedro Rodriguez.

Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri has a handful of expected absentees this weekend. Manuel Lazzari, Patric, Mattia Zaccagni, and Samuel Gigot are sidelined with various injury issues, while Luca Pellegrini is suspended.

Verdict

All signs point to a straightforward Juventus victory this weekend. I'm putting a full stake on a home win, while I also have the hosts to win-to-nil.
