Kalmar have been struggling in the Allsvenskan 2026 campaign, losing more than half of their matches so far and sit just above the relegation zone with 13 points after 12 rounds. 

A majority of these points were collected at home against lower table teams and relegation zone residents like Halmstad 2-0 or Orgryte 3-0, while they lost a majority of clashes against serious opponents.

Malmo Flying Under New Leadership 


Malmo had a rough start to the new season but things have started to get much better for them after sacking Miguel Angel Ramirez and appointing Gaute Helstrup as the new head manager. 

In his debut match, they took three points against Degerfors 1-0 as visitors, Erik Botheim scoring the only goal in the 52nd minute. This was a well-deserved win, posting 1.76-0.47 xG with 62% possession and 15-7 shots. 

Last weekend, Malmo crushed IFK Goteborg 4-0 in front of the home crowd and moved up to 6th place on the table. Botheim was the standout performer once again with two goals and one assist.

Malcolm Stolt is the only sidelined player for the home team, recovering from an injury, while Aboubacar Keita is doubtful.

Anders Christensen (leg injury), Pontus Jansson (knee injury) and Andrej Djuric (suspension) are not available for Malmo. Erik Botheim is having a great season so far, scoring 10 goals and registering two assists in Allsvenskan.

Kalmar have good results at home this season, but they only faced bottom table sides. Malmo are in great shape in July and I see huge value in backing them to win here.
