Mamelodi Sundowns vs Durban City Betting Tips - Sundowns to ease past Durban City in PSL

Mamelodi Sundowns are tipped to win to nil against Durban City in their upcoming fixture. Sundowns have won eight of their last ten home matches and kept three consecutive clean sheets in domestic competitions. Durban City are struggling with just one win in their last sixteen league games and face attacking concerns, with key forwards needing late fitness tests and an injury to Gaston Sirino. Sundowns' strong defensive record and Durban City's lack of firepower support the recommendation for a home win without conceding.

Sundowns are very strong at home and are backed for victory. Durban City have question marks in attack and I don’t see them scoring on the night.

Sundowns Eight Wins in 10 at Home

  • Mamelodi Sundowns have won 8 of their last 10 home matches.
  • Mamelodi Sundowns have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 3 domestic matches.
  • Durban City have lost 3 of their last 4 domestic matches.
  • Durban City have lost their last 2 matches vs Mamelodi Sundowns.

Two Previous Encounters

These clubs met for the first time last season. Sundowns won 3-1 in the first meeting.

The return fixture finished in a 1-0 away win for Sundowns in April 2026.

Sundowns Nine Wins in 12 Matches

Sundowns have two trophies this season already, but also saw their defence of the CAF Champions League crown end early. Their last 13 matches have seen nine wins.

The Brazilians lifted a trophy by beating Saudi giants Al Ahli 2-1 in the FIFA Intercontinental cup. A 2-0 win followed over Orlando Pirates in the MTN 8 Final, before a 4-1 league win over Richards Bay.

Sundowns drew 0-0 in Namibia in their CAF qualifier first leg away to Wiliete before a 1-1 draw at home to lose on away goals. They rotated heavily in midweek in a 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants in the Carling Knockout Cup.

Durban City Struggling in PSL

Durban City are in dire league form with just one win in the last 16 matches. They were knocked out of the Carling Knockout Cup in midweek as their domestic woes continued.

After the appointment of a new coach in Eric Tinkler, they lost 2-1 in the PSL at home to AmaZulu. They beat Port Louis 3-1 at home and then won 3-0 in Mauritius to seal a place in the CAF Confederation Cup Group Stages.

In midweek, City were knocked out of the Carling Knockout Cup at home. A 2-0 defeat in Durban vs Stellenbosch was a bitter pill to swallow.

Predicted Lineups & News

Mamelodi Sundowns (4-2-3-1): Williams; Matuludi, Khoza, Ndamane, Basadien; Aubaas, Allende; Ndlovu, Santos, Matthews; Leon.

Sundowns are without three injured defenders in Grant Kekana, Keanu Cupido and Khuliso Mudau. Key midfielder Teboho Mokoena is nursing a niggling knee injury.

After heavy rotation in midweek, we should see Marcelo Allende and Nuno Santos return in midfield. Brayan Leon will play up front despite a seven-match scoring drought.

Durban City (4-3-2-1): Asare; Shandu, Ncanana, Mkhize, Mokone; Jurgens, Sanger, Poggenpoel; Maseko, Domingo; Lwamba.

Attacking midfielder Gaston Sirino went off injured in midweek and is set to miss out. Samkelo Maseko is set to take his place.

Striker Jean Lwanda will need a late fitness test, as will fellow striker Tashreeq Morris. Letsie Koapeng may lead the line if neither forward is cleared to start.

Verdict

I see Sundowns winning this match to zero.
