Melbourne City Form Analysis

It hasn't been a great start to the season for City.

After being knocked out of the Australia Cup R32 by Queensland Lions, City have failed to win their opening two games of the A-League season.

Aurelio Vidmar's side were outclassed 3-1 by Auckland in Round 1 before being held to a 1-1 draw with rivals Victory in last week's Melbourne Derby.

Sydney FC Form Analysis

Sydney played their part in a dreadful season opener against the Wanderers as the two sides settled for a 0-0 stalemate.

However, the Sky Blues produced a much better performance against Adelaide last week, coming from behind to prevail 2-1 at Allianz.

Patrick Kisnorbo's side managed 15 shots (five on target) and raised their level in the second half to come away with all three points.
