Sporting CP vs Guimaraes Live Stream & Betting Tips - BTTS the Best Bet in Liga Portugal

Sporting CP host Vitoria de Guimaraes in a Liga Portugal clash where both teams are expected to score, given recent form. Sporting are hampered by injuries and winless in five, while Vitoria, invigorated by new manager Gil Lameiras, have found the net frequently. With Sporting unable to keep clean sheets and Vitoria in strong attacking shape, the best recommendation is to back Both Teams To Score (BTTS Yes). Keep an eye on lineup updates, and consider this informed tip for your next bet.

Sporting are limping to the finish line with injuries and fatigue affecting their squad. The Lions can’t be backed as a short priced favourite here, BTTS the best bet against Vitoria.

HTH - Sporting on Top

Sporting CP have a long history against Vitoria de Guimaraes, leading 112-27 alongside 37 draws.

Sporting in a Slump

Sporting are in poor form after failing to win in five matches. They drew 0-0 at Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final second leg and exited the competition.

The Lions then lost 2-1 at home to Benfica which saw their slim Liga Portugal title hopes come to an end. They got some joy in the Portuguese Cup, earning a 0-0 draw at Porto in the semi-final second leg to reach the final.

Rui Borges’ side are coming off two draws against the bottom two clubs in the Liga. Sporting had 75% possession and 3.36-1.66 xG in a 1-1 draw at AVS and conceded twice in added time to draw 2-2 against Tondela.

Guimaraes Holding onto Seventh Spot

Vitoria de Guimaraes have started to improve after Luís Pinto was sacked in March and replaced by Gil Lameiras.

The new manager lost his first two games in charge before a comprehensive 5-0 victory against Tondela. The Conquerors had 2.37-0.90 xG in a 1-1 draw at AVS but bounced back with a hard fought 1-0 victory at Gil Vicente.

Vitoria defeated Rio Ave 2-0 last time out. They left it late, Samu and Tony Strata scoring in the final 20 minutes.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Sporting CP (4-2-3-1) Rui Silva; Georgios Vagiannidis, Ousmane Diomande, Zeno Debast, Maxi Araújo; Daniel Bragança, Hidemasa Morita; Geovany Quenda, Trincão, Pedro Gonçalves; Luis Suárez

Geny Catamo could get a rest here with Trincão returning to the starting side. Gonçalo Inácio, Ivan Fresneda, Morten Hjulmand, João Simões and Fotis Ioannidis are injured.

Vitoria de Guimaraes (4-2-3-1) Charles; Miguel Maga, Óscar Rivas, Thiago Balieiro, João Mendes; Beni Mukendi, Diogo Sousa; Oumar Camara, Samu, Noah Saviolo; Gustavo Silva

Tony Strata, Gonçalo Nogueira and Miguel Nogueira will be hopeful of starting here but Gil Lameiras is unlikely to make many changes.

Verdict

Sporting are short priced favourites despite being unable to beat AVS and Tondela. Vitoria have found some form under Gil Lameiras and are more than capable of scoring against a wounded Lions side.
