West Ham vs QPR Preview

West Ham are seriously out of form and struggling to keep the goals out. QPR score and concede a lot and it’s worth sticking with BTTS and over 2.5 goals here.

Key Stats - Goals Standout

  • West Ham have seen BTTS in their last 2 home games.
  • West Ham have seen over 2.5 goals in 3 consecutive matches.
  • West Ham have seen BTTS in 2 of their last 3 home games against QPR.
  • QPR have seen BTTS in 4 consecutive away matches.
  • QPR have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 3 games.

H2H - Hammers Advantage

West Ham have a 38-30 advantage against QPR, alongside 25 draws.

West Ham Leaking Goals

Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham haven’t won since early November and have lost six of their last 10 games. The east London side have conceded 20 goals in that spell.

The Hammers have gained just one point from their last five Premier League fixtures. They lost three consecutive games before a 2-2 draw against Brighton and a 3-0 defeat at Wolves.

West Ham gave up a 1-0 lead and lost 2-1 at home against Nottingham Forest on Monday. Espirito Sanot’s outfit led through an own goal and conceded twice in the second period.

QPR Are BTTS Regulars

QPR are comfortably in the Championship’s mid-table and have won six of their last 10 games. The Hoops have seen BTTS in eight of those matches.

Julien Stephan’s team were on a three-match winless run. QPR drew 1-1 at Portsmouth before a 2-1 defeat at West Brom and a 2-1 home loss to Norwich.

The Rs bounced back with a comfortable 3-0 victory against Sheffield Wednesday.  Rumarn Burrell scored after 14 minutes and Rayan Kolli struck a second-half brace.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

West Ham (4-2-3-1): Mads Hermansen; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Julio Enciso, Oliver Scarles; Mateus Fernandes, Freddie Potts; Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, Crysencio Summerville; Taty Castellanos

Wing-back El Hadji Malick Diouf is on international duty and unavailable. Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is unavailable due to a back injury.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka returned to the West Ham squad after his AFCON involvement. The defender is in contention to feature against QPR and Nuno Espirito Santo said, “He was here today, in the building, he did a light session, he was travelling. He's OK, a little bit sad that he went away, but happy to be back.”

QPR (4-4-2): Paul Nardi; Amadou Mbengue, Jimmy Dunne, Steve Cook, Rhys Norrington-Davies; Karamoko Dembele, Nicolas  Madsen, Sam Field, Paul Smyth; Rayan Kolli, Richard Kone

Defender Jake Clarke-Salter and midfielder Ilias Chair are unavailable due to long-term injuries.

Midfielder Jonathan Varane and attackers Kwame Poku and Rumarn Burrell were injured against Sheffield Wednesday. The trio have been ruled out for the West Ham game.

Verdict

West Ham and QPR are poor at the back and neither side can keep the goals out. BTTS and over 2.5 goals are the best bets in the FA Cup.
