The BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club features the top 50 FedEx Cup players battling for the title. Scottie Scheffler returns as defending champion, but Xander Schauffele, Hideki Matsuyama, Si Woo Kim, and Wyndham Clark are in strong form and tipped to contend. Each has posted impressive recent results and tournament histories, making them top picks for victory. Our recommendation is to watch these four closely as they vie for the trophy this weekend in Missouri.

The top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings remains standing for the second event as the BMW Championship takes place at Bellerive Country Club in Missouri, but who wins?

Scottie Scheffler is back to defend his title after a two-stroke victory over Robert MacIntyre in 2025 and he is red-hot after an eight-shot win in last week's FedEx St Jude Championship.

The Bellerive Country Club has hosted some of golf’s most prestigious events, including the 1965 U.S. Open, the 1992 PGA Championships, the 2004 U.S. Senior Open, the 2008 BMW Championship, and the 2018 PGA Championship.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Xander Schauffele

Xander Schauffele has been in solid form on the PGA Tour lately, placing T7 at the PGA Championship, T29 at the Memorial Tournament, T11 at the U.S. Open, T51 at the Travelers Championship, MC at the Genesis Scottish Open, T18 at the Open Championship, 2nd at the Rocket Classic and T7 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship last weekend.

Other prominent performances achieved by Schauffele this year include a T19 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a T7 at the Genesis Invitational, a T24 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, 3rd at the Players Championship, a T4 at the Valspar Championship, a T9 at the Masters and a T12 at the RBC Heritage.

The two-time Major champion has compiled a solid record at the BMW Championship, finishing T20 in 2017, T3 in 2018, T19 in 2019, T25 in 2020, T49 in 2021, T3 in 2022, T8 in 2023, T5 in 2024 and T28 in 2025.

Schauffele has threatened to produce a winning result lately and should enter calculations at the Bellerive Country Club this weekend.

Hideki Matsuyama

Hideki Matsuyama has been in solid form since the end of May, placing T13 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, T43 at the Memorial Tournament, T65 at the U.S. Open, T14 at the Travelers Championship, T14 at the Open Championship, T3 at the 3M Open, T5 at the Rocket Classic, T7 at the Wyndham Championship and T7 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship last weekend.

Matsuyama has been ultra-consistent lately and can make the frame in Missouri this weekend.

Wyndham Clark
