Sweden Under Pressure in Final Group Game
The situation is very clear for Sweden heading into the final Group B round at the Olympics. Only a convincing win against Slovakia would secure first place and direct qualification for the quarterfinals.
The Swedes opened the tournament in convincing fashion, beating underdogs Italy 5-2 while dominating the shot count 60-22. Rasmus Dahlin starred with three assists, while Gustav Forsling and Mika Zibanejad chipped in with one goal and one assist each.
However, they were heavy favorites again in the second round against Finland but suffered a surprising 4-1 defeat, with Dahlin scoring Sweden’s lone goal in the second period.
