They then notched another ACC road win with a 33-20 victory at Wake Forest, before returning home to crush Central Michigan 52-3 in non-conference action.
Miami returned to ACC duty after that, as they went out on the road to dominate Clemson in a 41-13 victory.
The Hurricanes then backed that up at Hard Rock Stadium as they beat Florida State 43-35 and Pittsburgh 52-23 to improve to 7-0.
North Carolina Aim To Rebound From Third Loss
North Carolina go into this matchup on the back of an upset loss – their third defeat of the season.
The Tar Heels kicked off the campaign with a 15-10 win over TCU in Dublin, and backed that up at home with a 35-3 victory against East Tennessee State.
They dropped their opening ACC matchup though, losing 28-20 at Clemson, and then fell to a 37-26 defeat when they hosted Notre Dame.
North Carolina rallied when they returned to conference action, beating Pittsburgh 21-17 and Duke 24-20 on the road.
However, the Tar Heels were unable to make it three-in-a-row last weekend, as they suffered a surprise 31-30 home defeat to Syracuse.
Verdict
This is the time of year that Miami tend to trip up, but Mario Cristobal has his 2026 group focused and firing after seven games.
