Serbia have been one of the top performers so far at EuroVolley 2026, making it to the quarterfinals without losing a single match. They are the silver medal defenders from the previous tournament three years ago.
The Serbian team topped their respective group with four victories in straight sets against Austria, Bulgaria, Greece and Ukraine, while the only team to challenge them slightly was the Czech Republic, where they won 3-1.
In the Round of 16, Serbia had a slow start against Croatia, losing the opening set, then winning the next three to advance, allowing just 48 points.
Greece Riding High After Major Upset
Greece were tagged underdogs in their Round of 16 clash against France but caused a major upset by winning this game in straight sets and advancing to the EuroVolley quarterfinals for the first time in history.
They had mixed results in Group B, finishing behind Serbia and the Czech Republic, ahead of Bulgaria, Ukraine and Austria.
After an initial 3-1 loss against the Czech Republic, Hellas claimed three straight victories against Ukraine 3-2, Bulgaria 3-1 and Austria 3-1, while losing to group winners Serbia 3-0 in the final round.
