Chicago Sky’s playoff hopes have been reduced to a minimum after suffering a couple of painful defeats in the previous week, currently sitting in 5th place in the Eastern Conference with a 12-20 record.
They had some momentum going in late July, claiming back-to-back victories against Connecticut Sun 94-88 and Las Vegas Aces 84-83, but then couldn’t take down Phoenix Mercury, losing at home 106-101.
After returning to winning ways with a 95-88 home win over Los Angeles Sparks, another opportunity was wasted last weekend in Illinois, losing to Indiana Fever 90-86, mainly due to a poor first half.
Seattle Desperate to End Their Losing Run
Seattle Storm are enduring a disastrous WNBA campaign, arguably their worst in the last decade, sitting bottom of the standings with a 6-28 record and currently riding an eleven-game losing run.
They played two road games against New York Liberty last week. There was little resistance against the favored side in the first encounter, losing 95-83, while the efforts were much better in Game 2 but still lost 92-86, staying shoulder to shoulder for almost 35 minutes.
Seattle Storm couldn’t put an end to this horrible run last weekend against another table struggler, Portland Fire, losing 100-93 on the road, mainly due to slightly worse shooting percentages (47-51%), while other stats were pretty much equal.
