Las Vegas Chasing Another Road Win
Las Vegas Aces are the reigning WNBA champions, and the latest odds suggest they have a strong chance of defending their title. They currently sit second in the overall standings with a 20-8 record.
The Aces suffered a couple of slip-ups last month, including a heavy 109-75 home defeat to the Indiana Fever on 13th July and a narrow 100-99 loss to the Washington Mystics, but they responded with back-to-back victories.
The first came at home against the Portland Fire (98-83), while the latest was an impressive 104-99 victory over fellow title contenders New York Liberty. A'ja Wilson starred with 33 points and 10 rebounds.
Chicago Enjoying Home Success
Chicago Sky endured a disastrous start to the new campaign but have found some stability in recent weeks. They currently occupy sixth place in the Eastern Conference with a 10-18 record and still hold slim playoff hopes.
The schedule was extremely demanding during the second half of July, with narrow defeats to fellow title contenders Atlanta Dream (93-91) and New York Liberty (95-94).
Chicago have been excellent at home, though. After victories over the Seattle Storm (95-90) and Los Angeles Sparks (96-82) in mid-July, they extended that winning streak to three games by defeating the Connecticut Sun 94-88 two nights ago.
