USA vs France Women Live Stream & Tips – Tight Battle at the World Cup 2026 Finals

The USA basketball team's shooting has been inconsistent throughout the tournament, raising concerns as they head into the grand final against a strong and athletic French team. The matchup is expected to be intense and physical, likely resulting in a defensive, low-scoring battle. The key recommendation is to bet on the game staying under 155.5 total points, reflecting expectations of fewer scoring opportunities due to strong defenses and pressure.

Match Preview

USA were properly challenged by Spain yesterday in the semifinals, and no one expects them to cruise past unbeaten France in the gold medal-deciding match tonight.

USA Surviving Their Toughest Test Yet

After an initial 94-61 victory against China, USA were unrecognizable in their second appearance against heavy underdogs Italy, claiming a narrow 55-52 victory while posting disastrous shooting numbers of 28% from the field and landing 1 out of 12 three-point attempts. Jackie Young was the only player to score in double digits (10 points).

The Star and Stripes had no problems in the final round against Czech Republic, though, claiming a commanding 105-64 victory, while also cruising past Hungary 108-56 in the quarterfinals.

The biggest challenge yet came yesterday, when they entered the final quarter of the semifinal against Spain with a tied score, but stepped up defensively and allowed just eight points to La Roja to take a 76-66 victory. Breanna Stewart was named player of the match, scoring 16 points.

France Entering the Final Unbeaten

France were very convincing in the group stages, beating Hungary 99-53, South Korea 95-69 and Nigeria 111-56 to secure first position.

Many were expecting a close match against China in the quarterfinals, but Les Bleus cruised to another convincing 90-61 victory, winning mostly thanks to great rebounding (44-26). Marine Johannes was named player of the match with 15 points, seven assists and three rebounds.

Yesterday, France had zero problems against the tournament hosts Germany, winning the semifinal clash convincingly 86-64. Gabby Williams delivered an outstanding performance with 22 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Verdict

USA's shooting numbers were disappointing on a couple of occasions during the tournament, and I expect a very physical grand final against athletic France. Under 155.5 points is my top prediction here.
