Errol Spence Jr (28-1, 22 KOs) makes his long awaited return to the boxing ring on Saturday, July 25 when he takes on home favourite Tim Tszyu (27-3, 18 KOs) at the SuperDome in Sydney, Australia.

The fight can be exclusively seen globally in over 200 countries on DAZN PPV.

Former welterweight world champion Spence Jr established himself as one of the very best fighters on the planet as he rattled off 28 consecutive victories after turning professional, claiming world titles and beating a bunch of big names along the way.

He became a world champion for the first time in 2017 when he stopped Kell Brook in Sheffield, England to become IBF world champion, and over the next few years he went on to beat the likes of Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia and Yordenis Ugas while adding the WBC and WBA (Super) titles at welterweight.

Spence Jr’s run was brought to a shuddering halt though, when he was knocked out in the ninth round by Terence Crawford in July 2023, and he has not fought since that night.

He now ends his long absence by making the long trip to Australia to take on another former world champion in Tszyu, who has previously held gold in the light-middleweight division.

Tszyu – the son of Aussie boxing legend Kostya – is looking to get back into the world title picture, having rebounded from three losses in a four-fight spell with back-to-back victories, including a decision win over Denis Nuja in April.

But can the Australian delight his home crowd and get the job done here, or will Spence Jr make up for lost time and head back to the United States with a 29th career win?

You can see for yourself thanks to DAZN’s global live streaming service, which is broadcasting the fight live from Sydney on PPV.

Tszyu vs Spence Jr – What They Said

Tim Tszyu: “The question is, what does Errol Spence Jr. have in the tank after three years off? Our plan is to bring the heat and reintroduce him to the game right away. I wouldn’t take this fight if I thought I was going to lose. If I had a glimpse of that thought, I wouldn’t be here. I’m taking this fight because I’m going to win. I understand facing a volume punching southpaw from facing Fundora. I think Spence will be easier to hit. We’ll have a new game plan this time around and be ready for everything.”

“I’m going to bring it from round one. He’s the one who’s had three years off. I’m not rusty. My wheels will be in motion. I’ll be ready to jump on him. My family is 55-0 in Australia, so I think it’s a big advantage. Numbers don’t lie, and we’re going to keep it going. It’s a massive fight in Australia and worldwide.”

Errol Spence Jr: “I feel mentally sharper right now. This layoff gave me time to reflect a lot and recover. I’ve been boxing for a long time at the top level, ever since the amateurs. I needed this break. Even after my car accident, I never took a break. After the eye injury, they told me I couldn’t work out, but I was still walking eight to 10 miles a day trying to keep my weight down. I enjoyed this layoff because it gave me a lot of clarity. I feel rejuvenated.

“Tszyu has been dismissive of me. He’s saying his little things about how he’s going retire me. At the end of the day, it’s a war. He’s coming to retire me and take my name. I’m coming to conquer his country. I’ll shake his hand after the fight, but right now it’s game time. I’m definitely looking forward to beating him in Australia and disappointing all those people.”
