Both teams are evenly matched based on recent H2H, with New Zealand slightly favored due to experience. Key players like Sophie Devine, Melie Kerr, and Chamari Athapaththu are in top form. New Zealand Women off to a Strong Start

Two of New Zealand’s top three failed to reach double figures but the rest of the top-order made good contributions as they posted 162/6 off their 20 overs against the West Indies. Jess Kerr was the only bowler to pick up wickets as the West Indies completed a seven-wicket win with one ball to spare.

Melie Jerr has three half-centuries in her last eight innings, but failed to get out of double figures in her other five knocks. Maddy Green has scored 56*, 19* & 35 in her last four matches. Sophie Devine has been in good form with the bat, while Brooke Halliday top-scored with 40 against the West Indies on the back of an innings of 21 against South Africa in their last warm-up match.

Jess Kerr has figures of 2/21 and 2/17 in her last two matches, while Nensi Patel has taken 2/25, 1/7 and 4/18 in her last five matches.

Sri Lanka Women Winning Streak Ended

Chamari Athapaththu failed to fire against England after coming into the match with scores of 39, 32, 40, 32, 42, 41 and 94 in her previous eight innings. Harshitha Samarawickrama scored 29-plus in three of her last four completed innings and Vishmi Gunaratne has two undefeated half-centuries in her last four innings. Nilakshika Silva top-scored with 39 off 33 balls against England, while Hansima Karunaratne scored 54* in their last warm-up match against the Netherlands.

Sugandika Kumari has figures of 2/22, 1/33 and 1/26 in her last four matches, while Malki Madara has taken 2/31, 1/19, 1/12 and 1/51 in her last five matches, including the only England wicket to fall in their opener in the World Cup.

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka Predicted Lineups

Both sides need a big improvement over their opening match in the World Cup, with Sri Lanka’s bowlers having been particularly exposed against England. The Rose Bowl favours sides batting first and the weather report will encourage captains to bat first as it looks like a sunny and clear day with no chance of rain, so it’s best to put the runs on the board.

New Zealand Women (possible XI): Amelia Kerr (c), Georgia Plimmer, Isabella Gaze, Sophie Devine, Brooke Halliday, Maddy Green, Izzy Sharp, Jess Kerr, Nensi Patel, Rosemary Mair, Bree Illing.

Sri Lanka Women (possible XI): Vishmi Rajapaksha Gunaratne, Chamari Athapaththu (c), Imesha Dulani, Harshitha Samarawickrama, Hansima Karunaratne, Kavisha Dilhari, Nilakshi de Silva, Kaushani Nuthyangana, Sugandika Kumari, Malki Madara, Mithali Ayodhya.
