MIBR and B8 last clashed at the start of June in Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major, when B8 won with a 2-1 reverse-sweep. It was a fairly competitive game, which could’ve ended either way, so even though B8 came out ahead on the day, they can not be viewed as the definitively better team.

Admittedly, B8 have shown better form in Cologne, but qualitatively, MIBR and B8 are not too far apart.

B8 Chase First Big Event Trophy

B8 head into the XSE Pro League with something to prove, having yet to win a notable event this season. They picked up one trophy in April at Parken Challenger Championship #3, but have since suffered a few early eliminations from bigger events.

In May, B8 placed top-six at CS Asia Championships, and earlier this month, they exited Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major in 15th-16th. At the Major, B8 enjoyed a strong start, beating TYLOO, THUNDERdOWNUNDER, and M80 in Stage 1.

They even made it through Stage 2 with wins against GamerLegion, MiBR, and BIG, but were completely toothless in Stage 3, where B8 lost against FURIA, The MongolZ, and FUT Esports.

Despite the rough showing in Stage 3, B8 have proven they can compete against lower-rated teams, suggesting they have the tools to make a splash in China.

MIBR Have Tools To Succeed

MIBR, like B8, have recently attended the IEM Cologne Major, where they crashed out in 20th-22nd place. After making it through Stage 1 with relative ease, MIBR ended Stage 2 with a 1-3 record, which includes a 1-2 loss against B8.

This game is a good form guide on how MIBR should do on Wednesday, as they face B8 for the second time in a month.

The game in question started with MIBR taking a lead with 13-7 on Mirage, but they got reverse-swept with 10-13 on Nuke and 8-13 on Ancient. It was not a terrible showing and a fairly competitive game, so it is hard to question MIBR’s chances of pushing B8 to their limits again.
