BESTIA kicked off their VCT 2026 Americas Stage 2 campaign with a 1-2 loss against KRU Esports, but then looked much cleaner in their lower bracket round 1 clash with Cloud9.
The South American squad won 2-0, beating Cloud9 13-8 on Lotus and 13-10 on Breeze, proving they have the tools to deal with mid-table VCT teams.
This is definitely inspiring as G2 Esports haven’t looked that much better than Cloud9. Moreover, BESTIA have shown they can punish mistakes, and G2, in particular, have been making a lot of them – including playing too passively.

G2 Esports Are Stumbling
G2 Esports have looked very poor this stage. While they placed third in Group Omega with a 3-2 record, G2 showed cracks even in the group stage, and it continued into the Play-ins.
In the first round of the stage, G2 Esports lost to FURIA in a 1-2 reverse-sweep. G2 started the series with 14-12 on Split, but lost Haven 10-13 and Breeze 9-13. In the lower bracket, G2 found more traction and bested M80, but even then, G2 showed iffy things.
M80 forced G2 into overtime on Breeze (14-12), before G2 closed it out with 13-7 on Sunset.
G2 Esports have the player quality which should help them overcome Challenger teams. But they’re not playing nearly as well as G2 should, and are making mistakes which can be punished.

By all metrics, G2 Esports are the better team, fielding a more competent roster. However, in the arena, they’ve been fairly underwhelming, struggling to find any meaningful consistency.
BESTIA are still relatively unproven, but they played a solid game against KRU Esports and did not disappoint against Cloud9 either. Given BESTIA’s showings so far, they look primed to take at least one map off the shaky G2.
