This will mark the sixth clash between the two teams, and the first since August 10, when Liquid won. It was Liquid’s second consecutive win over FlyQuest and third in the LCS; having dropped two series during the Esports World Cup qualifiers.
Past records matter, but the teams’ form this split carries more weight. Liquid have been competitive all season, while FlyQuest have looked legitimately promising in the first two splits, only to turn into a pumpkin in summer and deliver a very disappointing regular-season performance.
While FlyQuest won their last outing against Sentinels in the first round of the playoffs, that one game does not prove much. And until FlyQuest show more of what they did last split, it is hard to put too much trust in them.
- Team Liquid have beaten FlyQuest last time out
- FlyQuest have a lot more to prove
- This is Liquid’s game to lose

Team Liquid Are in Excellent Shape
Team Liquid ended the LCS Summer regular season in second place, behind LYON on map differential. They won all but one game during group play and looked like the best team in the league outside of that one slip-up against LYON in the penultimate week of action.
Team Liquid haven’t shown many weaknesses, making it hard to doubt them and their chances of making a run for the trophy. One thing working against them, however, is that Liquid hasn’t played a game since September 5, when they swept Dignitas in the final week of the regular season.
Being away for two weeks will introduce some rust, and possibly a slower start to the playoffs. But even with that handicap, Team Liquid should be in a fine spot to defeat one of the worst teams of the split.
| Date | Event | Opponent | Result |

| September 6 | LCS 2026 Summer | Dignitas | 2-0 (W) |
| August 30 | LCS 2026 Summer | LYON | 0-2 (L) |

| August 15 | LCS 2026 Summer | Disguised | 2-0 (W) |

FlyQuest Have a Lot More to Prove
Following a very disappointing run through the regular season, FlyQuest swept Sentinels 3-0 in the first round of the LCS Summer Playoffs. While the final score shows 3-0, two of the three maps were very close and could’ve gone either way, so FlyQuest’s apparent dominance on the day can be taken with a grain of salt.
It seemed more like Sentinels beating themselves rather than FlyQuest winning. A victory is still a victory, and FlyQuest have shown some good things on the day, granted they could’ve also been more efficient in using their leads to close out games.
Beating Sentinels looks promising on paper, but considering how poorly Sentinels performed on the day, it is hard to praise FlyQuest too much. They still have a lot more to prove, even though there are some signs of life.

Verdict
Team Liquid were a significantly better team during the LCS Summer regular season, and there is nothing to suggest it’ll be any different this time out. FlyQuest have been shaky throughout the summer split, and even their win over Sentinels in the first round of the playoffs doesn’t inspire much confidence.
FlyQuest proved they can challenge teams of Liquid’s calibre last split. But their showings this split have been significantly worse, suggesting FlyQuest do no longer possess the tools to seriously threaten LCS’s top dogs.
