Fnatic Have Slowed Down
Fnatic had an explosive start to VCT EMEA Stage 2, beating GIANTX and Karmine Corp. However, things haven’t been as great since, as Fnatic have since had to admit defeat to Team Liquid and Eternal Fire, the latter on Thursday.
While seeing Fnatic lose to the high-flying Team Liquid was hardly a concern, it was a terrible display from the Black & Orange, who fell apart and lost 6-13 on Summit and 5-13 on Lotus.
Then came the crushing defeat to Eternal Fire, who humiliated Fnatic with 16-14 on Summit and 13-4 on Split.
Seeing Fnatic get run over by Liquid and lose to Eternal Fire is anything but inspiring. And while this remains a very talented roster, their form is a concern.

Team Heretics Aren’t Great
Team Heretics, like Fnatic, haven’t been having the best stage. They started VCT EMEA Stage 2 with a loss against Team Liquid (0-2), then they bounced back with a 2-0 sweep of Eternal Fire, followed by a 0-2 defeat against Karmine Corp, and a 2-0 sweep of GIANTX.
The defending champions have essentially found success only against two of Group Omega’s weakest teams, and even then, they did not look too convincing. Against Eternal Fire, Heretics dominated Haven (13-0), but gave too much room on Lotus (13-10).
Likewise, their performance against GIANTX has left a lot to be desired, so it is more than fair to doubt Heretics and their form ahead of the final match of the split.

Team Heretics and Fnatic are two of the most stacked teams of VCT EMEA, but they enter the final match in terrible shape. Neither team have managed to live up to the expectations this stage, struggling not only against stronger opponents, but even against some of the league’s bottom feeders.
Fnatic might have a higher ceiling and can definitely win. But their performance against Eternal Fire last time out raises a few concerns and suggests that there are other issues with the roster.
