Since then, G2 Esports have bested SK Gaming (2-0), Team Heretics (2-0), Natus Vincere (2-0), and Shifters (2-0), showing little to no signs of struggle. This comes as no surprise, as G2 are LEC’s top team; granted, they have been known for not giving their all during the group play, so this is a nice change of pace.
This doesn’t change the fact that G2 Esports are the type of team to experiment and mess around, so they are bound to drop a game they shouldn’t eventually. This, however, is less likely to happen in a clash with their arch-rivals, Fnatic.

Fnatic haven’t looked good this split, and that’s saying it lightly. They are 1-3, having only recently won their first match against SK Gaming.
While it was against a fairly weak team, Fnatic stepped up on the day, especially top laner Soboro, who had a monstrous performance in map one. Meanwhile, Upset did his part on map two, with a strong showing on Ezreal.
Fnatic seem to be waking up slowly, but that does not change the fact that they are a tier below LEC’s elite teams, including G2 Esports.
