GIANTX and Eternal Fire are set for their first head-to-head of VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 EMEA Stage 1 on May 1. While Eternal Fire has clinched a playoff spot with a 3-1 record, their recent underwhelming performance shows vulnerability. In contrast, GIANTX sits at 2-2 and needs this win to advance, having demonstrated flashes of quality but lacking consistency. The match is poised for an upset, as GIANTX has had time to prepare and Eternal Fire may not be as dominant as past results suggest.

GIANTX vs Eternal Fire Betting Predictions

GIANTX and Eternal Fire will clash on Friday, May 1, in the final week of VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 EMEA Stage 1, marking their first meeting of the season.

Eternal Fire is already guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, so this match means little to them, as win or lose, they’re through to the knockout stage. On the other side, GIANTX need this win to reach the next stage of the split.

On paper, EF look like the better team, having managed a 3-1 record. But their performance last week has left a lot to be desired, suggesting Eternal Fire are not as invincible as they may have appeared.

  • GIANTX need this win
  • Eternal Fire are showing cracks
  • An upset is not unlikely

GIANTX Are Not Terrible

GIANTX enter the final match of VCT EMEA Stage 1 with a 2-2 record. They kicked off the stage with a 0-2 loss against Team Vitality, then edged past PCIFIC Esports (2-1) and BBL Esports (2-1), and had to admit defeat to Fnatic (1-2) last week.

The clash against Fnatic was a rough one. GIANTX started the series with a 13-3 victory on Haven, but got reverse-swept with 7-13 on Bind and 9-13 on Breeze. Fnatic were playing with a stand-in.

So far this season, GIANTX have not looked terrible, but they’ve not been consistent, so it is hard to put too much faith in them.

Eternal Fire Have Exceeded Expectations

Since losing to Fnatic on the opening day of VCT EMEA Stage 1, Eternal Fire have accumulated three straight victories against BBL Esports, Team Vitality, and PCIFIC Esports, which was enough to qualify for the playoffs.

Eternal Fire have far exceeded expectations this season. Even in their loss to Fnatic, they looked competitive, and then they won three in a row. That said, Eternal Fire, dropped a map against PCIFIC Esports last week and came extremely close to suffering a defeat, needing a reverse-sweep with 11-13 on Fracture and Lotus to come out on top.

While EF looked clean in Weeks 2 and 3, their showing last week against the league’s worst team does not inspire much confidence.

Verdict

Eternal Fire have won all but one game this stage and are on a three-game winning streak. But their most recent win, against PCIFIC Esports, was not convincing.

PCIFIC did a fine job punishing Eternal Fire, who can be somewhat one-dimensional and are a type of team that you can prepare for. This gives GIANTX a real chance of beating the in-form Turkish squad, considering they’ve had over a week to forge a plan of attack.

Despite what the teams record suggests, GIANTX can deliver.
