GIANTX Are Struggling
GIANTX haven’t had the best run through Stage 2, and even that is being generous. They placed dead last in Group Omega with one victory to their name and a 2-8 map record.
After a rough group stage run, GIANTX edged past Eintracht Frankfurt in the first round of the Play-Ins, but had to admit defeat to FUT Esports in the second round, losing the match with 6-13 on Split and 10-13 on Sunset.
GIANTX have been fairly toothless when faced with stronger teams this stage, but they have been showing some signs of life. The big question, however, is how high they can fly, as GX’s ceiling appears very low.

Fnatic Have to Step Up
Fnatic have long been regarded as one of the strongest VCT EMEA teams. But it would be hard to tell based on their performances in Stage 2.
The Black & Orange ended Group Omega in fifth place, going 2-3 with a poor 4-7 map record. During the group stage, Fnatic have beaten GIANTX and Karmine Corp, but struggled against Team Liquid, Eternal Fire, and Team Heretics.
Even in the Play-ins, Fnatic have not shown anything exciting, suffering a rough 1-2 loss against Enterprise esports, with 13-3 on Lotus, 10-13 on Split, and 11-13 on Haven.
While still viewed as a team with a high ceiling, Fnatic have been in bad shape, so it is fair to question whether they’ll manage to find traction in time to avoid elimination.
