Invictus Gaming Have Tools to Succeed
Invictus Gaming have been making a name for themselves as the best team from the LoL Pro League (LPL), and based on what the Chinese squads have shown so far, that’s a fair assessment.
IG have looked good this tournament. They played a competitive game against Gen.G in the first rounds and have since beaten Team Secret Whales and Hanwha Life Esports. The latter was a weird game, with IG securing an early lead through cheesy plays, and they never looked back.
Props to Invictus Gaming for keeping a hold of their lead against LCK’s titans, but it was an unusual game which does not carry as much weight.

LYON have been playing exceptionally well this tournament. They bested Team Secret Whales in the first round and added a solid victory against Karmine Corp in the second round, before losing to Gen.G.
Even the defeat against the tournament favourites was no bad one. LYON won the first map, got smoked on the second, and played surprisingly well on the third map, before eventually having to admit defeat to a superior draft.
It’s becoming very clear that LYON are playing excellent League of Legends, and if they can keep at it, they have a realistic shot at making it very far.

Based on what the two teams have shown so far, LYON have a realistic chance of winning. In fact, I would not argue with anyone who believes LYON are the better team.
They’ve looked great in the first two rounds, and really stepped up in Round 3, when LYON gave Gen.G a run for their money. Invictus Gaming have been anything but bad at LoL Worlds and have shown equally as impressive performances, but they tend to be a more volatile team.
