Natus Vincere vs G2 Esports Tips – Two CS2 Titans Clash for IEM Cologne Major Invites
Natus Vincere (NaVi) will battle G2 Esports in a high-stakes match at IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 3, with a playoff spot on the line. Both teams have displayed inconsistent performances throughout the tournament, raising questions about their stability. Historically, each team has beaten the other once this season, highlighting the close rivalry. While NaVi is favored due to a higher potential, their lack of recent consistency is concerning, making an upset by G2 plausible. Expect a tense, close match, with NaVi slightly tipped to win.

Both teams have produced a mixed bag of results this tournament, with both looking great and bad, with poorly executed maps and major slip-ups.
While this does not change the fact that NaVi have a higher ceiling and should be viewed as favourites, their lack of consistency is worrying.

Natus Vincere Have More to Prove
Natus Vincere entered the Major as one of the main title candidates, but are now just one loss away from getting eliminated.
They’ve not had a terrible run in Stage 3, but haven’t found as much success as expected, losing to Team Spirit (0-2) and Team Falcons (1-2). On the other side, NaVi handled Legacy and The MongolZ, granted they had to dig deep against the Mongolian squad to avoid getting swept.
While NaVi’s run isn’t terrible, they’ve also been showing some cracks and played an underwhelming game against the Falcons – when they lost a map despite holding an 11-6 lead. Performances like that will not take NaVi far, and until they find more stability, they look more than capable of losing to anyone.

G2 Esports with a Tough Task Ahead
G2 Esports have, so far this stage, lost to Team Falcons and Aurora Gaming, and defeated FUT Esports and Legacy. The loss against the Falcons could’ve been avoided, but G2 Esports fumbled their chances on Ancient and lost the decider 13-16.
G2 then played better against FUT, turned into a pumpkin against Aurora, and crushed Legacy with 13-7 and 13-4 on Dust II and Overpass. The up-and-down performances from G2 Esports are slightly worrying, especially since they’re now set to face the toughest opponent yet.
On paper, G2 Esports appear as a weaker team than Natus Vincere, but G2 can have their moments, and the fact that they do not rely on one star player gives them some flexibility.

Verdict
Natus Vincere are favoured to win, which makes sense as they’ve shown higher highs than G2 Esports this season. But in IEM Cologne, NaVi have looked off and have not been very consistent or stable.
So, while this should be NaVi’s game to lose, their recent showings have been good enough to confidently say they can handle G2 without any issues.
