Weibo Gaming started LPL Split 3 with a 0-2 loss against Invictus Gaming. It was an interesting game, with Weibo kicking it off with a dominant victory on map one, before they got run over on the next two – largely thanks to the carry performances from IG’s TheShy.
With just one game under their belts, Weibo Gaming are hard to rank. They are not terrible, but far from great, and only time will tell how well they’ll do in Group Nirvana.
One thing to note is that Weibo Gaming’s support player change could work against them, as Jwei does not appear to be very effective in the current roam-heavy meta. He struggled against IG, and until Jwei proves he can change up his playstyle, Weibo Gaming’s bottom lane will not reach their full potential.
On a more positive note, WBG have solid players in all positions and, at least on paper, look like one of the top-two teams in Group Nirvana.

Ninjas in Pyjamas have brought in a new bottom lane duo for LPL Split 3, and they managed to find some early success, beating LNG Esports 2-0 on Sunday.
It was a very one-sided game, and a dominant display from NiP, especially Care, who posted a 9/9/12 K/D/A, and Photic, who ended the series with 9/2/15. However, as impressive as that victory was, LNG Esports have made it very easy for Ninjas in Pyjamas to appear strong.
It is more than fair to say that LNG underperformed and they did not properly test Ninjas in Pyjamas. They got their first win of the split, but NiP are still unproven.
