Team Vitality entered IEM Cologne as the clear favourites to win the event. This made a lot of sense as Vitality are the most successful team of the season and reigning back-to-back Major champions.
That said, the Bees have been showing cracks ahead of their trip to Germany, and they’ve not impressed anyone with their performances so far. Following a close 2-1 victory against FUT Esports in the first round, Vitality reached a new low in Round 2, where they got reverse-swept by 9z Team.
Vitality kicked off the game with 13-4 on Inferno, but could not keep up on Mirage (9-13) and Dust II (11-13). While one bad game proves nothing, the loss is just another of many iffy showings Vitality have produced of late.
