Team Vitality Continue to Roll
Team Vitality are the season’s most successful CS2 team, having won five out of six S-Tier tournaments. While they slipped at IEM Atlanta ahead of the Major, the French squad headed to Cologne as the primary candidates to go all the way and secure their third consecutive Major title.
Given their past accomplishments, that comes as no surprise. And even though Vitality did not dominate FUT Esports (2-1) in the first round of the Major, it is hard to find a good argument against the Bees and their chances of going 3-0 in Stage 3.
They had to work hard to defeat FUT on Thursday, but it is worth noting that FUT are a strong team. Moreover, it was Vitality’s first game in nearly a month. Now, warmed up, Vitality look poised for a stronger performance against what should be an easier opponent.

9z Team have made it to Stage 3 of the Major with a promising 3-1 run in the second stage. There, they bested FlyQuest 13-9, Astralis 13-5, and TYLOO 2-0, while suffering just one loss against the high-flying Team Spirit (0-2).
9z have essentially beaten teams they should’ve and lost against what appears to be the most in-form squad at the Major. That run proved nothing in terms of 9z Team’s ceiling, although they added another promising result in the first round of Stage 3.,
The South American squad started the third stage of the major with a 2-1 win over PARIVISION, with 13-1 on Overpass, 8-13 on Dust II, and 13-9 on Inferno. Most of their success was thanks to the explosive performance of luchov, who posted a 2.00 performance rating on the day, ahead of HUASOPEEK at 1.39.
While a promising showing, it is fair to question whether 9z will be as impressive against a stronger team like Vitality.
