TSM Look Weak

TSM are two-time APAC Open winners, which counts for something. But in their three appearances in international events, including the Esports World Cup, RLCS Paris Major, and RLCS Boston Major, have not been very memorable.

TSM exited both Majors in 13th-16th and the Esports World Cup in 9th-12th, which isn't too promising. They, however, have had some moments, notably beating NRG in the first round of the EWC 3-1. That win, while a memorable one, was a complete fluke and is not indicative of TSM’s strength.

R8 Esports Have a Bite to Them

R8 Esports enter the RLCS World Championship as one of the strongest teams from the EMEA region, where they’ve won one Open event and placed secondin two more.

More recently, R8 Esports have also secured a silver medal at Prime eLeague Season 4, where they narrowly lost the grand final against Team Falcons. However, they failed to carry that momentum into the Esports World Cup, finishing in ninth-12th place.

R8 Esports have not won many big events, suffering two early eliminations from the Paris Major and the EWC. However, they have produced some close games against stronger teams, such as Team Falcons, Karmine Corp, and Twisted Minds.

Not among the top title contenders at the world championship, but R8 Esports can hold their own.

TSM v R8 Esports

TSM have not looked good this season. Outside regional events, where they won two APAC Open tournaments, TSM have looked mostly toothless on international stages.

Their win over NRG at the EWC is TSM’s most notable game, but even that was a complete fluke and not a result that would indicate TSM’s strength.

R8 Esports haven’t won any big trophies either, but they hail from a tougher region and have shown before they can play at a much higher level.

This is a must-win match for R8 Esports, who look to be at least one tier above the struggling TSM.
