XLG Esports Are Feisty
XLG Esports have been playing well this tournament. They made it through the Swiss Stage with wins over Dragon Rangert Gaming and Global Esports, and delivered two more inspiring performances in the playoffs.
In the first round, XLG Esports humiliated G2 Esports, and on Monday, they played a highly competitive game against EDward Gaming. Despite the loss (1-2), XLG performed well, with 10-13 on Lotus, 13-10 on Breeze, and 3-13 on Split. They came close to taking the first map and were the better team on the second.
Happywei is continuing to show excellent form (1.16 average rating), and while he is the only stand-out player on the roster, XLG as a unit have been showing improvement and are not to be underestimated.

Leviatan Are Ramping Up
Leviatan kicked off the playoffs with a 0-2 loss against the tournament favourites, Paper Rex. But they bounced right back with a very promising 2-1 victory against VCT EMEA champions, Team Heretics.
It was a fairly one-sided game. Even though Leviatan lost Lotus (11-13), they did not look too shabby on the map. Meanwhile, they dominated Split (13-3) and Ascent (13-6), and with that proved that they have the tools to face any team in the tournament.
Even before the playoffs, Leviatan have shown signs of greatness, managing a 2-0 run in the Swiss Stage – with wins against Global Esports and NRG. So far, Leviatan are 3-1 this tournament, and besides the tough loss to Paper Rex, they’ve looked very solid.
One thing to note, however, is that Leviatan are not very flexible with their strategies, which could give their opponents, namely XLG, a chance to exploit Leviatan’s weaknesses.

Verdict
Leviatan are expected to win on Tuesday, which makes sense, as they’re a more established squad, from a stronger region, and with four promising performances behind them.
However, much like Leviatan, XLG have been showing pulse and have proven their worth with strong performances against G2 and EDward Gaming.
While this is Leviatan’s game to lose, XLG look good to win at least one map.
