The Commandos’ patchy run continued with a late 1-0 league victory against Al Fateh. Al Ettifaq had three shots on target and Jack Hendry scored a 78th-minute winner. 

Al Nassr Going From Strength to Strength


Al Nassr look in good shape early in the new campaign under Ange Postecoglou. The Saudi Pro League champions have won all three matches this season.

The Global Ones started the 2026/27 season with a 3-0 win at Al Fateh, where Joao Felix scored. A comfortable 4-1 King’s Cup victory at Al Diriyah followed and Felix scored a brace.

Postecoglou’s team extended their winning run with a 4-0 triumph at Al Riyadh. Nassr dominated with 2.01 XG and Abdulelah Al Amri, Angelo, Joao Felix and Cristiano Ronaldo scored.

Defender Sultan Al Ghannam is ruled out with a ligament injury. 

Cristiano Ronaldo returned as a substitute against Al Riyadh and played 30 minutes. The attacker is expected to get his first start of the season against Al Ettifaq.

Postecoglou praised Ronaldo after his Al Nassr return on Friday and said, “His mentality is he always wants to play, but he made sure he did all the right things - at training he worked hard - and it was fantastic for him to get 30 minutes today.

“And he scores a goal, which just shows you the measure of the man.”
