Brondby vs Silkeborg Predictions & Tips - Superliga Leaders Backed to Cover Handicap

Brondby welcome Silkeborg in a Danish Superliga clash, with the home side enjoying a strong start to the season. Brondby have dominated recent head-to-heads, winning the last three without conceding, and remain unbeaten in their opening four games. Silkeborg, meanwhile, are struggling, losing four of their last six league matches and failing to score in their last three outings against Brondby. The recommendation is to back Brondby with a -1 handicap and a clean sheet, given their momentum and superior record. Both teams have squad absentees but Brondby are in a strong position.

Brondby vs Silkeborg Predictions

Brondby welcome Silkeborg to Brondby Stadion in the Danish Superliga on Monday.

Thomas Norgaard's men have made a strong start to the season, and with a fine recent record against Silkeborg, should be backed to maintain their winning form.

I have my stake on the hosts to cover a -1.5 handicap, while they should keep a clean sheet at Brondby Stadion.

League Leaders Backed at Brondby Stadion

  • Brondby won their last 3 matches
  • Brondby kept a clean sheet in 4 of their last 5 wins
  • Brondby won by more than 1 goal in their last 2 wins against Silkeborg
  • Silkeborg failed to score in their last 3 matches against Brondby
  • Silkeborg lost by more than 1 goal in 4 of their last 5 defeats
  • Silkeborg lost 4 of their last 6 matches (Danish Superliga)

Brondby Dominate Head to Head Record

Brondby and Silkeborg have met on 17 occasions since 2021. Brondby won nine of those encounters, while Silkeborg claimed three victories. Five matches finished as draws.

Brondby won each of their three most recent meetings without conceding a goal.

The hosts secured 3-0 and 2-0 Superliga victories last season before a 2-0 success in a friendly in March.

Brondby Maintain Unbeaten Start

Brondby continued their impressive start to the new season with a well-deserved 3-2 victory against Sonderjyske on Monday.

Norgaard's side raced into a 3-0 half-time lead before surviving a second-half comeback to secure all three points. Mads Frokjær bagged twice before Olti Hyseni’s first-half stoppage-time strike proved decisive for the hosts.

The Boys from Vestegnen were good value for their victory. Brondby had 18 efforts on goal, with final xG figures of 1.62 to 0.92 reflecting the deserved nature of their win.

Monday's result leaves the hosts unbeaten through their opening four league fixtures.

Norgaard’s men began their campaign with a 1-1 draw at AGF before securing successive clean-sheet victories against Viborg (1-0) and Horsens (2-0).

A strong record in this fixture should add to Brondby’s confidence on Monday. The hosts won six while remaining unbeaten in nine previous Superliga encounters against Silkeborg.

Silkeborg Beaten at Nordsjælland

Silkeborg make the trip to Brondby after a 1-0 defeat against FC Nordsjælland on Sunday. Ibrahim Adel’s late goal settled a tight affair at Right to Dream Park.

Morten Dahm Kjærgaard's side struggled to create clear-cut opportunities and were fortunate not to suffer a heavier defeat. The Reds failed to register any efforts on target, and finished the contest with an xG of just 0.22.

Contrastingly, the hosts had 20 shots and a final xG total of 2.7.

Silkeborg have made a mixed start to the campaign, collecting only four points from their first four matches.

After kicking off their season with a 1-1 draw at Randers, SIF suffered a 3-1 home defeat against FC Copenhagen before securing their first victory of the season with a 1-0 win against OB.

Brondby vs Silkeborg Team News

Brondby: (4-2-3-1) Patrick Pentz; Oliver Villadsen, Jordi Vanlerberghe, Luis Binks, Mats Köhlert; Bartosz Slisz, Max Ejdum; Marcus Younis, M. Frøkjær-Jensen, Olti Hyseni; Oskar Fenger

Thomas Norgaard has two confirmed injury absentees this week. Frederik Alves and Marko Divkovic are unavailable for the home side.

Christopher Olivier is in contention to make his debut after joining the club from Stuttgart earlier this month.

Silkeborg: (3-4-2-1) Aske Andresen; Alexander Madsen, Robin Ostrom, Andreas Poulsen; Jens Martin Gammelby, Mads Larsen, William Kirk, Villads Westh; Callum McCowatt, Oliver Ross; Rami Al Hajj

Head coach Kjærgaard has three players missing for the trip to Brondby Stadion. Mikkel Oxenberg, Mads Freundlich and Pontus Rodin are all expected to miss out for the visitors.

New signing Mael de Gevigney could be included in the travelling squad, although the French defender is not yet at full match fitness.

Verdict

Brondby have made an impressive start to the season and should have enough quality to claim a comfortable win on Monday.

I have stakes on Brondby to cover a -1.5 handicap, and to keep a clean sheet at Brondby Stadion.
