Bradford and Bolton have been evenly matched in their recent League One encounters, with the first leg offering little to separate the two sides. Analysts anticipate another closely fought match, predicting a draw as the most probable result – particularly a 1-1 scoreline. Bettors are advised to consider draw odds, as defensive play is likely to dominate this clash.

Bradford Draw a Lot at Valley Parade

Graham Alexander’s Bradford were inconsistent late in the League One campaign. They failed to win in seven of their last 10 fixtures.

The Bantams drew three consecutive matches in April against Barnsley away 2-2 and Plymouth and Bolton at home 1-1. Bradford allowed under 1 XG in two of those stalemates.

The Yorkshire side beat Exeter 2-0 away in their final game of the 2025/26 season and had just three shots on target.

Bradford couldn't build on that victory and lost 1-0 at Bolton in the play-offs on Saturday. The Bantmas had 0.62 XG, no shots on target and conceded midway through the second half.

Bolton Are League One Draw Specialists

Bolton ended the 2025/26 League One season with more draws than any other side. Steven Schumacher’s team drew a league-high 18 games, with 10 stalemates away.

Wanderers were winless in their final three league matches, including a 3-3 draw with Huddersfield and a 1-1 stalemate at Bradford. Bolton followed those results with a 3-2 final-day loss at Luton.

The Greater Manchester outfit ended their winless streak with a narrow 1-0 play-off home win over Bradford. Wanderers had one shot on target and Amario Cozier-Duberry scored in the 60th minute.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Bradford (3-4-2-1): Samuel Walker; Joe Wright, Aden Baldwin, Curtis Tilt; Josh Neufville, Jenson Metcalfe, Max Power, Ibou Touray; George Lapslie, Antoni Sarcevic; Kayden Jackson

Bobby Pointon is an injury doubt. Graham Alexander explained that the attacker was unlikely to return for the second leg and said, "We were always chasing the timescale around him and pushing it.

"I just think the games have just come too quickly. It's just been difficult for him to do.”

Bolton (4-2-3-1): Jack Bonham; Jordi Osei-Tutu, Eoin Toal, Chris Forino-Joseph, George Johnston; Josh Sheehan, Ethan Erhahon; Amario Cozier-Duberry, Ruben Rodrigues, Ibrahim Cissoko; Mason Burstow

Attackers Corey Blackett-Taylor and Marcus Forss are ruled out due to injury.

Verdict

Bradford and Bolton have drawn plenty of League One matches recently. There was little between the sides in the play-off first leg and another cagey contest is anticipated here.
