Brisbane Roar Fall From Grace

It's been a hugely disappointing fall from grace this season for Brisbane, with the side winning just one match in 2026.

The Roar were firmly entrenched inside the top six at the start of the season, but they've been poor throughout the opening three-and-a-half months of 2026 and still aren't out of wooden spoon contention yet.

Brisbane would need to lose their last two games (very possible), but the Wanderers would also need to win their last two fixtures in order for the Roar to finish rock bottom.

The Roar have been stubborn lately though - Michael Valkanis' side have drawn four of their last five games, including spoiling Central Coast's finals charge last week with a 2-2 draw as Jordan Lauton equalised with a late header.

Melbourne City On Verge Of Finals

City struggled for much of this season, but have found some form at the business end of the campaign to have their finals destiny in their own hands.

A run of four wins from five games have propelled City into sixth spot on the ladder, four points ahead of Macarthur, who dropped crucial points last week against Perth. City are also five points clear of Wellington in eighth.

After beating the Wanderers 3-0 and Central Coast 2-1, City made it three wins on the trot with last week's 2-0 dispatch of Wellington at home.

Aziz Behich opened the scoring for City before Marcus Younis doubled their advantage with his fourth goal since joining the club on loan in January.
