Celtic vs Dunfermline Live Stream & Predictions - Hoops to Secure Scottish Cup Glory

Celtic enter the Scottish Cup final full of confidence after clinching the Premiership title and boasting an eight-match winning streak. With a formidable recent record over Dunfermline, including five straight wins since 2010, the Hoops are firm favourites. Dunfermline, who recently suffered playoff heartbreak and haven’t beaten Celtic in 21 years, face a tough challenge. Key absences on both sides are noted, but Celtic’s depth and form suggest a comfortable win and a likely goal from in-form Daizen Maeda.

Celtic vs Dunfermline Predictions

Buoyed by their Premiership title victory, Celtic should prove far too strong for Championship opponents Dunfermline.

A Celtic win with at least three goals scored should prove a reliable choice, while I also expect Daizen Maeda to continue his hot goal-scoring run.

High-Scoring Hoops Win Likely

  • Celtic won their last 8 matches
  • Celtic have seen over 2.5 goals in 7 of their last 8 matches
  • Celtic's Daizen Maeda has scored 8 goals in his last 6 matches
  • Dunfermline lost their last 5 matches against Celtic
  • Dunfermline have seen over 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 matches against Celtic

Celtic Lead H2H Record Against Dunfermline

Celtic and Dunfermline have met on five occasions since 2010. Celtic won all five games, including a 2-1 win in their most recent contest in the League Cup seven years ago.

Celtic Claim Premiership Glory

Celtic make the short trip to Mount Florida after a remarkable victory against Hearts secured a famous Premiership title triumph.

In a winner-takes-all showdown, Daizen Maeda's 87th-minute strike finally broke Hearts before Callum Osmand sealed a dramatic 3-1 victory with the final kick of the game in front of a delirious home crowd.

Martin O'Neill's side were good value for their final-day victory at Parkhead. The Hoops finished with a final xG tally of 2.83 compared to the visitors' 0.93.

The Bhoys have found their best form in recent weeks, securing eight successive wins since a 2-0 defeat at Dundee United in March.

A dominant record in this competition should give the Hoops even more confidence this weekend. Celtic secured Scottish Cup glory in six of the last nine seasons.

Dunfermline Suffer Playoff Heartbreak

Dunfermline arrive at Hampden Park after their Premiership promotion hopes were dashed with a 2-1 defeat at Partick Thistle last week.

Following a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Neil Lennon's side took a first-half lead at Firhill before second-half goals from Logan Chalmers (51') and Alex Samuel (75') secured a 3-2 aggregate victory for the Jags.

The Pars have been unable to find much winning form in the past couple of months. Lennon's men failed to win eight of their last ten games in the past six weeks.

Competing in the Scottish Cup final for the first time since 2007, the Pars secured their place in Saturday's showpiece with a penalty shootout win against Falkirk.

Set to face Celtic for the first time since 2019, Dunfermline have not beaten the Scottish champions since a 1-0 win at Parkhead 21 years ago.

Predicted Lineups and Team News

Celtic (4-3-3) Viljami Sinisalo; Alistair Johnston, Auston Trusty, Liam Scales, Kieran Tierney; Arne Engels, Callum McGregor, Sebastian Tounekti; Benjamin Nygren, Hyun jun Yang, Daizen Maeda

Celtic boss O'Neill remains unable to call on several first-team players ahead of the trip to Hampden Park.

Tomas Cvancara, Colby Donovan, Julian Araujo, Kasper Schmeichel, Adam Montgomery, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota are all ruled out.

Speaking to the media this week, O'Neill spoke in glowing terms of Pars boss Lennon.

"I'm greatly looking forward to it, absolutely, against Neil Lennon, who will be my nemesis for 90 minutes, 120 minutes, or penalties, whatever it may be.

"I owe Neil a great deal because I signed him for Leicester at a time when life wasn't great, and we weren't winning many matches, and he did magnificently for me in getting us immediate promotion and in the following couple of years.

"It was no wonder I wanted to sign him for Celtic, and he has a history here like you wouldn't believe.

"He has managed the club brilliantly and been a brilliant player, and his record is incredible."

Dunfermline (4-4-2) Aston Oxborough; Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen, Nurudeen Abdulai, Kieran Ngwenya, Matty Todd; Alfons Amade, Charlie Gilmour, Robbie Fraser, Andy Tod; Callum Morrison, Christopher Kane

Head coach Lennon has three absentees this weekend. Freddie Turley picked up an ankle injury against Airdrie and has returned to his parent club, Derby.

Playmaker Graham Carey misses out, while striker Zak Rudden is still nursing a shoulder complaint and is expected to miss out.

Verdict

Celtic have the momentum to make light work of their lower-league opponents in Saturday's Scottish Cup final.

I have my stake on the Hoops to win with at least three goals scored, while I also fancy Daizen Maeda to score at Hampden.
