Chelsea's recent matches have been high-scoring affairs, with BTTS occurring frequently. Currently sitting 8th in the league, they have struggled in their last five games but recently marked a FA Cup victory. Brentford, on the other hand, are in exceptional form, currently 5th, having scored 13 goals in their last five matches, including impressive wins in the league and FA Cup. Expect a lively contest, with goals from both teams likely.

Chelsea have an 11-7 advantage against Brentford, alongside six draws.

Chelsea Often See BTTS

Chelsea have struggled for Premier League form recently and have dropped to eighth in the table. The Blues are winless in five league matches and have seen 16 total goals in this period.

The West Londoners lost 2-1 at Fulham in their most recent league game. Liam Rosenior then took charge of his first match and led Chelsea to a 5-1 away win at Charlton in the FA Cup.

The Blues lost 3-2 at home against Arsenal in the EFL Cup on Wednesday. Chelsea allowed 2.67 XG and two second-half goals from Alejandro Garnacho couldn’t prevent the defeat.

Brentford Get Amongst the Goals

Keith Andrews’ Brentford are one of the Premier League’s most in-form teams. They have gained 13 points from their last five games and scored 13 goals.

The Bees are on a three-match winning run in all competitions. That streak started with league victories at Everton 4-2 and against Sunderland at home 3-0.

Brentford continued their impressive recent form with a 2-0 FA Cup triumph over Sheffield Wednesday. Andrews’ team had 4.55 XG and Keane Lewis-Potter and Mathias Jensen were on target to secure a comfortable win.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Robert Sanchez; Joshua Acheampong, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Marc Cucurella; Andrey Santos, Enzo Fernandez; Alejandro Garnacho, Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto; Marc Guiu

Defender Levi Colwill and midfield pair Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia are ruled out due to injury. Midfielder Cole Palmer and defender Reece James are injury doubts.

Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens missed the Arsenal game due to illness. Liam Rosenior was hopeful that the attacking duo could return for Brentford and said, “Both of them had really high temperatures - dangerously high. Hopefully, they can rest up and be OK for Saturday.”

Brentford (4-2-3-1): Caoimhin Kelleher; Michael Kayode, Kristoffer Ajer, Nathan Collins, Rico Henry; Yehor Yarmolyuk, Vitaly Janelt; Mathias Jensen, Keane Lewis-Potter, Kevin Schade; Igor Thiago

Midfielder Frank Onyeko is on international duty and won’t feature. Defender Antoni Milambo, forward Fabio Carvalho and midfielder Josh Dasilva are unavailable due to injury.

Jordan Henderson came off with an ankle injury against Sheffield Wednesday. Keith Andrews is unsure of the midfielder’s availability for the Chelsea game and said, “We felt at HT that it wasn't worth risking. Could he potentially have played on? Maybe. I'm not sure. But we made a decision not to risk it. We'll see how he is over the coming days.”

Verdict

Chelsea score and concede in most matches and Brentford are in good attacking form. These West London sides can get amongst the goals again in the Premier League.
