In the upcoming Premier League clash, Tottenham faces West Ham in what promises to be a goal-filled encounter. Both teams have exhibited defensive vulnerabilities, with the majority of their recent games witnessing both teams scoring and exceeding 2.5 goals. Currently positioned 14th and 18th in the league, respectively, both teams bring inconsistent form into this duel. Tottenham’s squad faces injuries and international absences, while West Ham’s defensive woes place them in the relegation zone. Betting sites favor BTTS and over 2.5 goals due to these trends.

H2H - Plenty of Goals

Tottenham have a 103-67 advantage against West Ham, alongside 56 draws.

Tottenham Are Leaky

Thomas Frank’s Tottenham have struggled recently after winning just one of their previous seven matches.

Spurs’ last victory was a 1-0 away win against Crystal Palace. Back-to-back draws with Brentford 0-0 and Sunderland 1-1 came before a 3-2 loss at Bournemouth.

Tottenham lost again on Saturday following a 2-1 home defeat to Aston Villa in the FA Cup. Spurs allowed 2.04 XG, trailed 2-0 at half time and Wilson Odobert scored early in the second half.

West Ham Rarely Keep Clean Sheets

West Ham are in the Premier League’s relegation zone and sit seven points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have conceded a league high of 43 goals in 21 games this season.

The East Londoners are on an 11-match winless run in all competitions, conceding 21 goals. They have lost their last two Premier League games at Wolves 3-0 and at home against Nottingham Forest 2-1.

The Hammers drew 1-1 against QPR in the FA Cup before eventually winning 2-1 after extra time. Crysencio Summerville opened the scoring and QPR equalised before Valentin Castellanos scored a winner in the 98th minute.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Guglielmo Vicario; Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Ben Davies; Joao Palhinha, Conor Gallagher; Randal Kolo Muani, Xavi Simons, Mathys Tel; Dominic Solanke

Midfield pair Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are on international duty. Forward trio Richarlison, Lucas Bergvall and Mohammed Kudus are sidelined due to injury.

Central midfielders James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski are also injured. Conor Gallagher is in contention to start after transferring from Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

West Ham (4-2-3-1): Alphonse Areola; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jean-Clair Todibo, Max Kilman, Oliver Scarles; Mateus Fernandes, Freddie Potts; Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, Crysencio Summerville; Valentin Castellanos

Wing back El Hadji Malick Diouf is on AFCON duty. Midfielders Mateus Fernandes and Lucas Paqueta are expected to return after missing the QPR game through injury.

Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is unavailable with a back issue and Konstantinos Mavropanos is unlikely to feature. Nuno Espirito Santo provided an update on the centre-back and said, “Mavropanos is a neck thing so will take some time."

Verdict

Tottenham and West Ham concede a lot. Neither side is convincing at the back and goals are expected in the Premier League.
