Everton and Crystal Palace head into their Premier League clash after lackluster pre-season performances. Both teams appear evenly matched and have struggled with consistency, making a draw the most recommended betting option. Odds favor a standard draw at 3.5, with a 1-1 score offering a decent return at 7. The analysis highlights that neither side has shown significant improvement, suggesting punters should expect a balanced and cautious match.

Everton vs Crystal Palace Preview

Everton were out of form at the Hill Dickinson Stadium late last in 2025/26 and the Toffees had a patchy pre-season. Crystal Palace were also inconsistent under Pierre Sage before the new campaign and a draw looks likely in the Premier League.

Toffees Winless in 4

  • Everton are winless in 4 consecutive home games.
  • Everton are unbeaten in their last 11 matches against Crystal Palace.
  • Crystal Palace are winless in 4 of their last 6 matches.

Everton have a 29-15 advantage against Crystal Palace, alongside 22 draws.

Everton’s Home Form is Unconvincing

David Moyes’ Everton were one of the most out-of-form Premier League home teams late in the 2025/26 season. They failed to win eight of their last 10 home matches and conceded 17 goals.

The Toffees ended last season with a seven-match winless run and continued their patchy form in pre-season. Everton drew two and lost two of seven pre-season friendlies.

The Merseyside team lost 3-1 against Stuttgart and hit back with a 3-1 victory over Newcastle in two of their final three matches.

Moyes’ side drew 1-1 in their only home pre-season friendly against Lille. Iliman Ndiaye opened the scoring with a first-half penalty and Everton conceded a 92nd-minute equaliser.

Crystal Palace Lacking Consistency Under Sage

Crystal Palace confirmed Pierre Sage as their new manager in pre-season. The French coach replaced Oliver Glasner, who led Palace to three trophies in two full seasons.

The Eagles thrashed Swindon 5-1 and lost 3-0 to Bromley in their first two games under Sage. A 3-0 loss to Lens, a 0-0 draw with Famalicao and a 3-1 victory over Al-Ula followed in the Como Cup.

Palace then came back from a goal down and beat Fulham 2-1. The south London side had 15 shots and 33% possession.

Sage’s outfit continued their inconsistent run and lost 3-0 at Freiburg. Palace faced 20 shots and shipped three goals in the second period.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Everton (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford; Merlin Rohl, Jarrad Branthwaite, James Tarkowski, Vitalii Mykolenko; Hayden Hackney, Tyler Dibling; Iliman Ndiaye, Harrison Armstrong, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall; Thierno Barry

Midfield trio James Garner, Christian Norgaard and Tim Iroegbunam are unavailable due to injury.

Crystal Palace (3-4-2-1): Dean Henderson; Jaydee Canvot, Chris Richards, Chadi Riad; Oscar Mingueza, Daichi Kamada, Adam Wharton, Tyrick Mitchell; Ismaila Sarr, Dwight McNeil; Jorgen Strand Larsen

Dean Henderson is likely to feature after coming off injured against Freiburg with an ankle issue.

Perrier Sage was positive about the goalkeeper’s condition pre-match and said, “We want him to play. But we gave him a few days of treatment to allow him to be in his best shape.

"He will train today with the goalkeeping coaches and we will take the decision tomorrow. But we are hopeful he is able to play.”

Verdict

Everton and Crystal Palace failed to impress in pre-season and these sides are inconsistent. A Premier League draw is the best bet on Merseyside.
