Sunderland’s high-scoring pre-season continued with a 4-1 defeat to Lens. They hit back in the double-header match and beat Lens 1-0.

The Wearside outfit completed their pre-season preparations with a 2-1 comeback victory over Rennes. Sunderland were 1-0 down at half time and Brian Brobbey and Trai Hume scored in the final 30 minutes.

Defenders Thomas Meunier and Omar Alderete and winger Nordi Mukiele and expected to make the squad after recent injuries.

Regis Le Bris confirmed the trio’s availability for the Ipswich clash and said, “We'll see for the game time against Ipswich because they are not all at the same stage fitness level-wise, but they are available.”
