Ipswich and Sunderland are both known for their high-scoring games, making their upcoming Premier League clash a potential goal-fest. The key recommendation is to back Both Teams To Score (BTTS) and Over 2.5 Goals, with additional value on Over 3.5 Goals. Smart bettors should consider these options—BTTS at 1.77, Over 2.5 Goals at 2, and Over 3.5 Goals at 3.6—to capitalize on both teams' offensive strengths and likely open play.

Ipswich Know How to Score at Home

Ipswich have scored at least once in 15 consecutive competitive home games at Portman Road. The Tractor Boys last failed to find the net in a 0-0 draw against Wrexham in November 2025.

Gary O’Neil’s side continued their high-scoring approach in pre-season, scoring 11 goals in six games.

The Suffolk outfit won their final four friendlies ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. That winning run started with victories against Wycombe 2-1, Le Harve 1-0 and Rayo Vallecano 3-0.

Ipswich capped pre-season with a 4-2 away triumph against Union Berlin. Jack Clarke, Emmerson and Dara O’Shea scored in the first half and Kasey McAteeer added a late fourth.

Sunderland Scored and Conceded a Lot in Pre-Season

Regis Le Bris’ Sunderland kept just two clean sheets in their seven pre-season friendlies and scored 13 goals.

The Black Cats played in the Premier League Summer Series and lost 4-2 against Liverpool in the opening game. A 1-0 defeat against Leeds and a 1-0 victory over Wrexham followed.

Sunderland’s high-scoring pre-season continued with a 4-1 defeat to Lens. They hit back in the double-header match and beat Lens 1-0.

The Wearside outfit completed their pre-season preparations with a 2-1 comeback victory over Rennes. Sunderland were 1-0 down at half time and Brian Brobbey and Trai Hume scored in the final 30 minutes.
