Manchester City aims to maintain their Premier League title pursuit without dropping points against Brentford. Erling Haaland, prolific at the Etihad, is tipped to score, with various betting suggestions favoring a City win, high scoring (over 2.5 and 3.5 goals), and a potential Haaland brace or more. The analysis recommends backing City due to their form and attacking prowess, especially at home. The consensus is a comfortable City victory with multiple goals scored.

H2H - City on Top

Man City have a 14-7 advantage against Brentford, alongside two draws.

Man City Challenging for the EPL Title

Pep Guardiola’s Man City are second in the Premier League and trail Arsenal by five points. City also have a game in hand over the Gunners.

The Citizens overtook Arsenal temporarily following a three-match winning streak. City beat Chelsea 1-0, Arsenal 2-1 and Burnley 1-0, with Haaland scoring twice in that period.

The Manchester outfit lost ground in the title race after a 3-3 draw at Everton on Monday. Jeremy Doku scored first and Everton netted three goals before Erling Haaland and Doku struck to rescue a point.

Brentford Rarely Win on the Road

Brentford are seventh in the Premier League table and have a one-point cushion inside the European qualification places.

The London side are in unconvincing form, winning just two of their previous 10 matches in all competitions.

The Bees are also winless in four consecutive away games, starting with draws at Bournemouth 0-0, West Ham 2-2 and Leeds 0-0. Keith Andrews’ team then lost 2-1 at Man United, allowing 1.36 XG.

Brentford ended a seven-match winless run with a 3-0 home victory over West Ham. Andrews' side controlled the game with 2.27 XG and Igor Thaigo and Mikkel Damsgaard got on the scoresheet.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Man City (4-2-3-1): Gianluigi Donnarumma; Matheus Nunes, Abdukodir Khusanov, Marc Guehi, Nico O'Reilly; Nico Gonzalez, Bernardo Silva; Antoine Semenyo, Rayan Cherki, Jeremy Doku; Erling Haaland

Defensive pair Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias are unavailable due to long-term injuries.

Rodri is also unlikely to feature against Brentford after missing the last three matches with a groin issue. Pep Guardiola was unsure about the midfielder’s recovery time and said, "He is getting better. Still hasn’t trained with us, so we will see."

Brentford (4-2-3-1): Caoimhin Kelleher; Michael Kayode, Sepp van den Berg, Nathan Collins, Keane Lewis-Potter; Yehor Yarmolyuk, Mathias Jensen; Dango Ouattara, Mikkel Damsgaard, Kevin Schade; Igor Thiago

Midfielder Jordan Henderson and defender Rico Henry could return to the squad following recent injuries.

Forward Fabio Carvalho and defender Antoni Milambo have knee injuries and won’t feature.

Verdict

Man City won’t want to drop any more points in the Premier League title race and can comfortably beat Brentford. Erling Haaland scores a lot of goals at the Etihad and he is tipped to score again on Saturday.
