Manchester United, under the temporary leadership of Michael Carrick, have been on impressive form in the Premier League. As they prepare to face Crystal Palace, who have been conceding goals frequently in away fixtures, a prediction of Manchester United winning with over 2.5 goals is compelling. The odds suggest BTTS at 1.8 for 2 units and Man United Win with Over 2.5 Goals at 2.2 for 2 units, indicating a potentially high-scoring match at Old Trafford.

H2H - Man United Dominate

Man United have a 42-13 advantage against Crystal Palace, alongside 14 draws.

Man United on the Up

Man United have gained 16 points from a possible 18 under Michael Carrick in the Premier League. No team has taken more points than the Red Devils during that spell.

United started their upturn in form with a 2-0 home win against Man City and a 3-2 win at Arsenal. Carrick’s team then beat Fulham 3-2 and Tottenham 2-0 at home before a 1-1 draw at West Ham.

The Red Devils returned to winning ways on Monday with a 1-0 victory at Everton. Benjamin Sesko scored on 71 minutes and United controlled the game with 1.27-0.64 XG.

Crystal Palace Are Poor on the Road

Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace are one of the most out-of-form away sides in the Premier League. The Eagles have gained just four away points in their last five league fixtures and conceded nine goals.

Palace were on a nine-match winless run in the league and saw 22 total goals. That winless streak ended with a 1-0 win at Brighton and the Eagles then lost 3-2 against Burnley.

The Londonders hit back with a 1-0 home win against bottom-of-the-table Wolves, attempting 2 XG and 14 shots.

Glasner’s side won back-to-back games for the first time since early December after beating Zrinjski Mostar 2-0 on Thursday. Palace had 2.36 XG and Maxence Lacroix and Evann Guessand scored in each half.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Man United (4-2-3-1): Senne Lammens; Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw; Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo; Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha; Bryan Mbeumo

Defender Lisandro Martinez missed the Everton game due to a calf issue and is doubtful for the Palace match. Winger Patrick Dorgu is ruled out with a thigh injury.

Midfielder Mason Mount and defender Matthijs de Ligt are also unavailable due to injury. Michael Carrick ruled out the pair for Sunday’s clash and said, "Mason is getting closer, he’s on the grass, he’s looking to train and be around it. We’ve just had to be patient really.

“Matthijs has had a back issue, which has been a little bit sore to progress really. He’s heading in the right direction."

Crystal Palace (3-4-2-1): Dean Henderson; Chris Richards, Maxence Lacroix, Chadi Riad; Daniel Munoz, Will Hughes, Adam Wharton, Tyrick Mitchell; Ismaila Sarr, Evann Guessand; Jorgen-Strand Larsen

Midfield duo Jefferson Lerma and Cheick Doucoure have long-term injuries and won’t feature. Striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is ruled out due to a knee issue.

Maxence Lacroix returned against Zrinjski Mostar after an abductor injury. Oliver Glasner was positive about the defender’s chances of featuring at Old Trafford and said, “Right now, it looks okay, but let's see how the reaction is.”

Verdict

Man United are one of the most in-form teams in the Premier League and look strong under Carrick. Crystal Palace have conceded a lot of away goals recently and a home win with over 2.5 goals is a good pick at Old Trafford.
